Do you want to know how to be the number one ninja in the world? Well move over Naruto, because the latest developer diary from the developers behind Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z gives you an idea of what it means to be a “Ninja Badass.”
In the world of Yaiba, players play as the eponymous hero, a bottom-of-the-ladder shinobi in a world where Ryu Hayabusa and dozens of other ninja rank above him in skill and power. But now with a slew of cybernetic upgrades, Yaiba has to prove he’s “strong enough and crazy enough” to take on the world’s most dangerous missions, forced upon him by his benefactors.
The video has input from Spark Unlimited’s lead game designer Cory Davis and producer John Garcia-Shelton, Team Ninja’s executive producer Yosuke Hayashi, and Comcept’s art director Shinsuke Komaki , game director Masahiro Yasuma and CEO Keiju Inafune himself. Unfortunately for non-Japanese speakers though, all of the Japanese developers speak in their native tongue, and no one thought to add subtitles for a video aimed at Westerners.
At least there’s cool video footage.
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is being co-developed by Spark Unlimited, Team Ninja and Comcept, directed by Comcept’s Keiji Inafune, and published by Tecmo Koei. The game is set to release on March 18th to the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC; for more on how to be a ninja badass, check out all of our Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z news.
