PS4 Exclusive inFamous: Second Son Gets New Details about Powers, Weather, and More

We’re just a month and a day away from the launch of the PS4 exclusive inFAMOUS: Second Son, on March the 21st and Sucker Punch Production is dropping new details and hints about the game on Twitter.

A fan asked if we’ll see a Karma Bomb for the neon powerset, and while the developer didn’t explicitly confirm… well, they kind of did, probably referring to what can be seen at the end of the “Neon” trailer:

Well we’ve been very careful not to show exactly what you are asking in its entirety. However, we have teased it fairly well!

Another tease was dropped as another user asked about flying and climbing enemies besides the conduits working for the DUP that we already saw:

Good question, can’t answer : )

The “good question” and the smiley sound a lot like a semi-confirmation to me.

Sucker Punch also confirmed that we can expect Seattle to be free of fog most of the times, which is good if you’re a fan of long draw distances. Considering how beautiful the game’s environment is, that’s a relief.

We can control the level of fog. And no, it is not permanent. We have multiple times of day to choose from most w/o fog.

There’s also a fairly interesting, yet cryptic tidbit about an inFAMOUS: Second Son PS4 bundle. A fan asked if there’s going to be one, and Sucker Punch answered “none announced thus far… hopefully.” That’s fairly strange, as a bundle has already been announced officially for Europe.

The only interpretation that comes to mind is that they assumed that the question came from a North American fan and they were answering about a bundle in the US. In which case the “hopefully” sounds quite promising.

Hope this turns out good as we need a good PS4 game in march to compete with other big releases. I do wish it had co-op though, maybe as DLC someday hopefully.

Totally different genre than Titanfall if that’s what you’re subtly referring to. I hate that it has to be a competition. Both of the games will do well with their target audience. Titanfall will not be an XOne system seller because it’s available on 360 and PC, but it will be a good game to get if you have an XOne.

Titanfall is def a system seller i had people buying the system to play the beta.. But regardless I wish infamous had multiplayer it would have been amazing conduit versus conduit the more conduits you kill the more powerful you become and force people to team up and take you down so much potential there but regardless infamous is going to be great and so is titanfall great year to be a gamer …

“But regardless I wish infamous had multiplayer…”

I’m glad that they focused on the single player instead of wasting time and resources on a tacked on multiplayer component.

“Tacked on multiplayer” is (over)used to describe all multiplayer components good or bad, stop it. Multiplayer worked well in Infamous 2 and the campaign was still fun, which proves that you don’t need to cut out multiplayer just to make a good campaign – The Last Of Us and GTA V are also good examples.

Good or bad, I have no use for it. I think its a waste of effort, if that’s your thing more power to you, there are plenty of games out there for you. You’re not the only person they make games for. Why should one group of gamers be allowed to dictate how all games are made?
Sure, they could have added a multiplayer, but some other aspect of the game would have had to have been sacrificed.
So this one time you didn’t get your way, deal with it

Did you just say infamous 2 multiplayer? There is no such thing… only creatable missions that other players can take on themselves.

Just because the PS4 isn’t getting Titanfall in March doesn’t mean its not getting good games. PS4 will be getting Infamous Second Son, MGS:GZ, Dead Nation(according to leak), and Towerfall. If you are a PS4 FPS fan than yeah March doesn’t look like a good month but people who like other genres will have some great games to choose from.

        I want some PlanetSide 2. 🙂

Sony has been pretty quite about when the PS4 version releases but if it does release in March than the game will definitely be a great choice for FPS fans.

        Drive Club hopefully too

Titanfall is not going to be as big of a system seller a lot of XBox fans are making it out to be. Plus, the PS4 has gotten some really good indie games as of late like Outlast. Sony’s strategy is to release several indie titles in between AAA releases in order to space the AAA games out. Titanfall can only do so much and after Titanfall, what’s next? Halo 5 isn’t coming out until next year. We have no idea when Quantum Break or Sunset Overdrive will come out.

I do agree with you 100% I don’t think Titanfall (sans Campaign) will be a huge draw. So far Sony’s strategy of filling in the gaps between AAA games with Indies appears to be working.

I downloaded Outlast but haven’t checked it out much, I have been enjoying DC Universe Online again.

Funny some XBONE fans seem to be dissing PS4 based on the lack of games, but it doesn’t seem like MS really has a good deal lined up beyond multiplatform games this year. I am crossing my fingers for Uncharted 4 by the holidays, but I am pretty sure that is very wishful thinking.

Looks like you have some trolls downvoting you. When you downvote something that has no controversy, you just look like a jerk, I expect downvotes for saying this, but it’s 100% true.
