Naughty Dog’s Bruce Straley Shares Sketches for Jak II and Bone Game he Wanted to Make

by on March 1, 2014 10:12 PM 7

Today The Last of Us and Uncharted II Game Director Bruce Straley shared over twitter a couple of very old but very interesting sketches.

The first is dated circa 2002, and it was made in preparation for Jak II‘s Heaven Forest level, while the second from the early nineties is for a concept based on Jeff Smith’s popular comic Bone, that apparently Straley always wanted to turn into a video game.

You can check both sketches below for a glimpse on what has been and on what could have been.

    awesome!

How I’d love another Jak game with a good story. The gameplay was solid, lets see if we can screw up Jak a little more with the different kinds of Eco from the first game. How could turning into a red rage machine not be fun?

For someone whose username is “Hates bad writers”, you’d realize that adding additional colored eco powers would be completely redundant and uninteresting when there’s enough story universe to be developed as there is.

When we have already existing Eco that was completely abandoned in the story, that’s the problem. For somebody who thinks they know stories you sure don’t know stories.

I’d absolutely love anew Jak games on PS4 if done right.
