Super Mario Bros. 3 Comes to Wii U Virtual Console

Super Mario Bros. 3 has finally been released for Wii U Virtual Console eShop. The title was first released in Japan in 1988 and then in North America in 1990.

Some may remember that this was the game featured in Nintendo’s The Wizard. Due to the publicity from the movie, the title became a super commercial hit and went on to be one of the best-selling video games of all time. Super Mario Bros. 3 is also available for 3DS, with a download play multiplayer feature. You can check out the trailer below for all the info.

I was just playing this with my gfs little brother on the original Wii that I think he downloaded from the eShop. Thats strange that its not already available for Wii U.

Bought a Wii U yesterday to compliment my PS4. It’s very true it works better as an accompanying console versus your ‘primary’ console.

It’s a completely different beast from the PS4 and X1, both in hardware, interface and games – which is kind of nice to balance out the more ‘serious’ focus of the PS4.

…PS4 still reigns king though haha

I agree. The Wii U backs up my PC very well with the Nintendo goodness I’ve packed into it. Hell, I’ve been using it to even play all the Wii games I missed out on (I hadn’t picked a Nintendo console up since the GC/GBA).

I don’t regret it, but there’s nothing about it that screams “primary”, sadly enough.
