Sony Reacts to April NPD “Victory” for PS4; inFAMOUS: Second Son Best Selling Next-Gen Game

by on May 15, 2014 7:05 PM 171

Sony Computer Entertainment just released its own comment on the latest North American NPD figures that saw the PS4 beat its rival, the Xbox One, for the fourth month in a row.

Senior Vice President of PlayStation Brand Marketing Guy Longworth shared the company’s triumphant statement:

The April NPD report confirmed that PlayStation 4 was the top selling next generation console and remains the cumulative leader. in addition, inFAMOUS: Second Son was the top selling next gen software title in April.

Since PS4 launched last november, over 7 million consumers have enjoyed the rich and immersive gameplay, powerful graphics and deeply integrated social features only available on PlayStation. Demand for PS4 continues to outstrip supply and we’re working incredibly hard to provide additional inventory.

We’d like to thank the PlayStation Nation for their amazing support and we’re looking forward to sharing exciting news at E3 next month.

It’s definitely interesting to see inFAMOUS: Second Son holding this strongly in the US, considering how rapidly its sales have been declining in the UK and that it was out of the top ten software chart (that included overall units moved on all platforms for each game), but it’s not so surprising, since it’s an absolutely fantastic game.

What “exciting news” will Sony Computer Entertainment share at E3? We’ll find out in less than a month.

    Congrats to Sony!

        Yes.

      • Lammer Jammy

Don’t be a douchebag. Give credit where credit is due. You make the tame Xbox fanbase look BAD. If you continue being a douchebag, you might as well kill yourself.

        • Krakn3dfx

          Whoa.

          Maybe a tad harsh.

Feels like the Monday Night Wars all over again. We got WWF, once glorified, went down the shits when the PS3 came out, and now they’re taking over with the PS4. Can’t wait for E3 man.

  • BlackestNight63

Congrats to Sucker Punch for having SS be the most successful game in the inFAMOUS franchise.

    • dieger

Successful but not the best in my opinion as the endgame content is REALLY weak.

      • BlackestNight63

That wasn’t my point, but I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you either. Paper Trail missions were fun though.

        • dieger

i know i was just really disappointing by the ending and with the second playthrough it was pretty though

          • BlackestNight63

It felt kinda rushed, and it’s weird because they delayed the game, but the sequel should be much better if they begin working on that next.

          • http://E-mpire.com/ Omnistalgic

yeah i agree, they add variety, better voice acting and overall polish…Sony could have another top franchise on there hands. I mean, just look at Marvel movies, I think it’s always desirable to play a super hero.

      • Jewy McJew

Agreed. Loved it (its my favorite series) but I need more… soon please!

      • Kingdom17

Very true, great game, but really hope they flesh out the side characters and gameplay more with some DLC, it still felt a little rushed to me, even though I loved it.

  • Mus1ckFPS

GJ/GG to sony, now i really cant wait for E3 For these games announcements, hopefully some of those leaks were true and we can really use more Playstation exclusives

  • Dennis Crosby

I’m confused gamespot just said titanfall was the top selling game for April

    • Xtreme Derp

Of course you’re confused, your post history shows you’re a fanboy intellectual bellend.

“inFAMOUS Second Son was the top selling next gen software title in April”

In other words, Titanfall is 1st place thanks to 360 and PC. Infamous outsold the Xbox One version of Titanfall for the month, not including the 360 or PC versions.

      • Dennis Crosby

And this is coming from the superfanboy with large like 3 different accounts lol your a joke dude how does my history show in a fanboy when you look at it that I have A.praised the ps4 many times B.stated ton of time that I enjoy playing my ps4 and Xbox one and C. Replaying a ton of time to you aka the super troll who has nothing better to do

        • Xtreme Derp

Your post history is crammed full of microsoft shilling and cheerleading sony bankruptcy. Stop lying.

It’s good to know you’re completely wrong and raging against facts and reality, and nothing you say will happen.

You seem upset at PS4’s stronger hardware, ~3 million sales lead, large number of 1st party studios, and larger developer support. You don’t understand business, sales, or hardware specs, all you can do is fling feces and scream “XBOX WON!!1″. Microsoft fanboy shills don’t love their console they just hate the success of others.

    • Sucka Free

I think that maybe they are talking about it EU, I know that TF is did better there than I:SS

  • islan

So Titanfall was the best-selling across both 360 and XB1, whereas inFamous Second Son was the best selling on just the new gen. Interesting.

  • hahaha

PC…they have mastered the masturbation race.

  • Jimmy DoneGood

Good job. Sony needs every bit of good news they can get these days especially after the 1.3 billion dollar loss. Hopefully they can recover soon.

    • Xtreme Derp

It’s sad that Microsoft fanboy shills are so desperate that their only hope is for Playstation to disappear completely instead of continuing to dominate Xbox in sales and dev support.

Your favorite piece of plastic is getting dominated by PS4 in sales, games performance, and dev support, causing you to harbor fevered delusions about Sony going bankrupt. Sorry, not happening. Sony isn’t going bankrupt.

      • PhantomVash808

The irony of it though is that Sony may be struggling as a company but its Microsoft that has its investors wanting the Xbox division to be sold off while Sony shareholders are happy with its PlayStation division.

        • superkarma

That aside, the real irony is how a company that is in such financial troubles can completely dominate another company that has more money than it knows what to do with.

If I were an Xbox troll/fanboy, I’d be much more concerned with that fact than how Sony is doing financially.

    • superkarma

Nothing to see here, folks. Flag and move on.

    • 3rdworldgamer

thought you were sincere with your words, but then i look at your comment history.

what i don’t understand is why xbox fanboys like you seems to be obsessed with sony’s finances. why can’t you accept the fact that sony will not & won’t go away?

      • extermin8or2

They’ve basically already said that if worst got to the worst “SCE operates as it’s own company within the main company” which heavily implies to me that if it were required SCE would just continue on, on it’s own. However as it’s making money unlike some of the other sectors…

      • Dan

Same reason Sony fanboys are obsessed with talking about resolution. You can only fix bad business to a degree, same with resolution. Though one in the end will hurt the console more, I’ll let you figure out which one.

And someone above said that Sony shareholders are happy with PS, no their not, but what other sources of revenue do they have? It’s like saying I’m happy with my 99 Camry cause I have nothing else to drive

        • Sucka Free

Go ahead, have your fun while you can. I would bet you money that by the time this generation is through, Sony will be operating in the black again.

          • Dan

Sucka you misunderstand me. I hope so. Sony has been an innovator in the tech world, but they focused on making cheaper and cheaper products and that killed them, as other companies were making the same products just better. I hope they get back to their roots and make their products really shine.

Here’s the deal Sony fanboys are so incredibly irrational (not all) that anything MS says is a lie the ppl who like them are sheep and that the X1 is the worst thing since zumbas. Xbox fans are going to lash out and hit Sony where it hurts, and let’s not kid ourselves their in serious trouble.

          • Sucka Free

Xbox fans can do nothing to Sony

          • Dan

Same the other way around friend. Or are you on the well destroy MS band wagon too? To be honest that wagon is looking kinda ratty and even more crazy.

          • Sucka Free

I know that, you were the one saying that Xbox fans would lash out. Lash out and do what exactly? And I’m not on any hate bandwagon, but you seem to be, going on with that same tired crap about their finances, like that really matters to a gamer. I don’t give a crap about Sony or Microsoft, I only care about the Playstation

          • Dan

I was more just replying to a question someone above asked. Nah I’ll buy a PS4 when uncharted comes out. I will defend MS but won’t spout crazy things, look at my comment history.

        • superkarma

It’s funny, because last gen, Microsoft fanboys were obsessed with resolution and how awesome multiplats looked on the 360 compared to the PS3. But now, since the tables have turned, suddenly resolution doesn’t mean much to those same fanboys. Isn’t it weird how that worked out?

Also, are you a shareholder? If not, why do you care about the revenue? Microsoft’s Xbox division has been bleeding money for many years, with only recently turning a profit. Even with that profit, some Microsoft shareholders want the Xbox division gone. It’s not worth it for them in the long run, according to said investors.

        • Xtreme Derp

PS4 will have the graphics advantage the entire gen. PS4 hardware and software will outsell Xbox globally the entire gen. PS4 will have more dev support and more 1st party games the entire gen. Sony still has a large number of 1st party studios and they’re all working on PS4 games. PS4 will make a net profit, Sony won’t go bankrupt.

        • 3rdworldgamer

i would’ve replied earlier, but superkarma already said the things i want to point out. i’d just quote him:

“It’s funny, because last gen, Microsoft fanboys were obsessed with resolution and how awesome multiplats looked on the 360 compared to the PS3. But now, since the tables have turned, suddenly resolution doesn’t mean much to those same fanboys. Isn’t it weird how that worked out?

    • extermin8or2

Also if you’d paid proper attention you’d see most of their losses can be attributed to restructuring/ selling off areas like the PC business etc….

      • bigevilworldwide

Shhhhhhh doom and gloomers don’t actually understand that or really how to read financial reports

    • DemonFenton

Yet MS is currently in 3rd place right now. I wouldn’t be talking smack right now since MS being beaten this year on every NPD so far this year.

  • Craig Sloan

Well done Sony and Sucker Punch. Infamous is a great game on a great console.

    • Thinkaboutit

billions lost but hey great job sony… please dont ever run a business

      • superkarma

Billions lost and still roughly 4 million in sales ahead of its direct competitor. Don’t be so butthurt, fanboy. It’s ok.

        • TJ

3 million ahead yet still bleeding money, sounds about right

          • superkarma

More than 3 million, closer to 4 million (extrapolating from the roughly 1 million a month they’ve been selling). Expect an 8 million announcement at E3. Expect Microsoft to remain silent about X1 sales.

Bleeding money? Are you an investor?

          • Sucka Free

better than 4 million behind and still bleeding money

          • TJ

Microsoft is actually profiting unlike Sony…..Man u peasant ass console owners SMH

          • cozomel

Lol, butthurt fanboy, PS4 is wiping the floor with X1. FACT!

LMAO! Seriously? You have to go there?

          • Duke

1080p on PC? Seems kinda low to me, aren’t all PC gamers at 1440p, 120fps, ultra, highest AA rating…

          • Sucka Free

Sure, MS is profiting, but not the Xbox. See as in everything, Sony and MS are opposites. Sony isn’t doing well but the Playstation is profitable, MS is profitable but the Xbox is a money pit.

            Xbox is profiting LMFAO

No, you’re obviously an Xbox fanboy, otherwise you’d feel no need to rush to their defense like you did. But keep lying to yourself – and embarrassing yourself with your inability to spell properly.

Did your African tribe “teach” you how to type/write? They did a miserable job. Maybe you can go back to sharpening spears for your local voodoo master. You’ll need it when your raiding the white man camps and raping the white women.

          • Duke

How is Microsoft making a profit at all benefiting you? Are you a member of the board, a major shareholder, are you Bill Gates? Is that why you refer to people as peasants?

          • Lammer Jammy

LOL, peasant? You being a ghetto black-ass, I’m sure you know all about being a “peasant”.

          • You are flat out wrong

            Xbot tears.

Yo, tell me specifically how much Xbox made? Oh wait, you can’t because they stuff numbers in with mobiles and tablets and we can’t tell. LOL!

          • Sucka Free

Yeah, I may be a peasant ass console owner but I bet my gaming PC makes yours look like a hand me down. Here’s my spec, put up or shut up:

      • They Call Me Senpai

Totally irrelevant, but keep talking about random things. Your mind must be all confused up there in the “clouds”. Btw, kill yourself.

      • Michael Norris

Your ass looks like it hurts are you ok?

      • Xtreme Derp

Oh look, another constantly wrong fanboy lining up for a big plate of crow when Sony doesn’t go bankrupt.

PS4 is currently outselling Xbox almost 2:1 globally, 7 million to ~4 million as of April 6 2014. The sales gap is growing wider despite price drops and free Titanfall bundles. PS4 is still very supply constrained in some non-US countries.

MS shipped 5 million to stores, sold ~4.2 mil to consumers, with ~800k rotting on store shelves. Most console gamers are ignoring MS fanboy apologizing, denial, and damage control and buying PS4s. Playstation is a net profit and PS4 will gain on that profit.

“2nd fastest selling console ever!!1″ Yeah no, sales cratered after the one time delusional fanboy frenzy at launch. It’s going to get WORSE as time goes on, not better. Xbox is shipping under 360 numbers and will soon be selling under 360 numbers.

Xbox will hardly sell anything in smaller “tier 2″ markets already dominated by PS3 and PS4. The global gap is growing wider, Xbox will never surpass PS4 in global sales.

The 13 countries Xbox One launched in already account for ~90% of 360’s sales. Remaining countries will be 10% at best, but probably less since it’s launching late, more expensive, and less global appeal than the MURICA’ NFL TV box. I estimate the % of sales from non-launch countries around 5-6% at best.

Furthermore, Xbox is ALREADY AVAILABLE in pretty much every European country as a grey market import. They’re stacked on the shelves of “unlaunched” European countries. That leaves Asia, South America, Middle East, and African countries.

These markets for Xbox are so tiny they might as well be rounding errors. In other words, barely enough to move the global needle, let alone keep it from tracking under the 360 shipped numbers.

I can’t wait for September’s “launch” to arrive with all the sales force of a wet fart. Microsoft fanboys will be left gobbling up a mountain of crow yet again while scrambling for more excuses and straw grasping. Same with this China straw grasping. I’m sorry but that’s reality and if you think Xbox sales are going to skyrocket in September you’re in for some serious crow eating.

Xbox does not have access to all of MS’s money, they’re given a budget by shareholders and expected to turn a profit. MS shareholders aren’t going to throw endless billions into the Xbox brand that shows little or no sign of turning a profit.

The Xbox brand has lost Microsoft billions of dollars, Xbox One will lose them further billions. Why do you think Microsoft investors keep calling for it to be sold off? Xbox, Bing, Surface, and Windows Phones are all in the same general area of failure and net loss. MS’s consumer products besides Windows have almost all been failures.

Sony’s 1st parties are ALL working on PS4 games. The gaming division is making a profit and is well funded. The gaming division and first party studios are well funded and making a profit. During the quarter ending 31st December 2013 the Game business made a profit of $172m off the back of an impressive 64.6 per cent rise in sales year on year.

Sony is selling or splitting off their lossy businesses (Vaio, TVs) and focusing on their profitable divisions. This means they’ll soon cut their losses and start turning a profit. You should be worried if Sony WASN’T cutting those losing divisions, but they’re making the right business decisions. They won’t ever be an empire again but they aren’t going under.

The gaming division and first party studios are well funded and making a profit. During the quarter ending 31st December 2013 the Game business made a profit of $172m off the back of an impressive 64.6 per cent rise in sales year on year. Sony is in for a year or two of losses and restructuring, then provided their profitable divisions stay profitable, they’ll be on solid ground.

Sony is still worth 18.5 billion. They just aren’t bringing in enough revenue or profits to bring that number up, and for a time, and probably for a few quarters here or there for the next few years, they might lose money. They also obviously have working capital, because they have games in development right now, and are able to market their newest system and do what they have to do to sell their products. If Sony were on the brink of bankruptcy, we wouldn’t be seeing AAA game announcements with budgets ranging from $50-100 million dollars. If they were on the brink of bankruptcy, they wouldn’t be buying Gaikai, or investing in new tech such as Morpheus or the PS4. PS4 will make a net profit, and Sony won’t go bankrupt.

Sony Game, Financial Services, Devices, Music, Mobile Products & Communications, and Pictures are all profitable divisions. They aren’t going anywhere, sorry.

Sony’s market cap is 18.65 billion as of today (2014).
Market cap in 2013 was 17.6 billion it has gone up since then.
Sony is ranked #80 in world as the most valuable brand 2013.

Sony is ranked #506 in the global 2000
        #87 in Sales
        #171 in Assets
        #547 in Market value
78.52 billion dollars in sales in 2013

Your favorite piece of plastic is getting dominated by PS4 in sales, games performance, and dev support, causing you to harbor fevered delusions about Sony going bankrupt. Sorry, not happening.

        Sony Games Division FY 1995-2013:
        -9+57+117+137+77-51+83+113+68+43+9-232-125-58-56+48+29+2-8 = 244 billion yen net profit

Yes the games division is still a NET PROFIT even after the PS3 losses, PS1 and PS2 were just that successful.

  • XDrone (is the new name)-lol

How can you compare a stat that includes alls sales on all platforms? Titanfail is sold on three different platforms so of course its gonna be higher then a game that is only on ONE system. And then try to say its surprising that it was the top game. You so called journalists make me sick….

  • Temjin001

    Go PS4 GO!
Wonder how things will pan out once the XO matches PS4’s price.

    • Sucka Free

Probably pretty much the same as it is now. I don’t know anyone who chooses a console based on price.

  • LiquidSword

Playstation domination! Meanwhile, MS caught in yet another lie saying Kinect is an integral part of Xbone and can’t be taken out yet they took it out.

    • datdude

You know the xbots are in grief…you can just imagine the tears of blood they are weeping…what a console they have bought…the xbone doesn’t even know what it is anymore…what an unmitigated disaster!!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!

LOL nobody wants Kinect,it’s dead and hopefully gone.

    Titanfall Top April’s Sales Charts

    • Sucka Free

yeah, if you count all three platforms combined, but as the article (that you posted yourself) says, if you calculate sales based on SKU’s, Yoshi’s Island and Infamous would top the chart.

    • Giuseppe Nelva

      Someone missed a detail there.

    • DemonFenton

      Grasping for straws I see.

      Wrong, fanboy

Hey, I bought a PS4 in April. You’re welcome for your great April NPD numbers, Sony.

    • Sucka Free

Yeah, you took them there single-handedly ;D Good job!

      • AJ

I knew Sony needed the help financially, so I just did what I could. No big deal.

        • Loledhard

          Thanks -Sony.

Just kidding lol, you did a good job, Xbone is still behind, that’s all that matters.

  • DemonFenton

Well I:SS is a fun game to play and the DLC is pretty good with some detective style puzzles. I can see the PS4 hitting 8 million SOLD to consumers being announced during E3. Grats Sony on a job well done again. As for you Lemmings there’s always next gen I think.

    • http://dualshockers.com Joel Taveras

I’m guessing more like 10 at the conference.

      • DemonFenton

I’m guessing Watch Dogs will do that than. If so we’ll hear it during the E3 conference.

Like I said before. Sony needs all the good news it can get. Even if they are hollow. Due to the fact they lost 1.3 billion and are forecast to lose another 1.3 billion next year. They also lost 78 million on Playstation. So that isn’t really helping them.

    • Sucka Free

Don’t cry, man. Go mow some lawns or something so you can buy a PS4 of your very own.

      • datdude

You know the poor slobs are really hurting when they resort to financial forecasting…LOLOLOLOL!!! They will be jumping off bridges after E3 when Sony’s first parties show what they’ve been working on. And with Morpheus and psnow on the way, they will roll in their watery graves in eternal agony. Poor bastards.

Oh look, another constantly wrong fanboy lining up for a big plate of crow when Sony doesn’t go bankrupt. It’s sad that Microsoft fanboy shills are so desperate that their only hope is for Playstation to disappear completely instead of continuing to dominate Xbox in sales. Keep crying and shilling while everyone else ignores you and keeps buying PS4s.

Sony is still worth 18.5 billion. They just aren’t bringing in enough revenue or profits to bring that number up, and for a time, and probably for a few quarters here or there for the next few years, they might lose money. Are you an investor? If not, why does a company’s loss/profit mean anything to you?

If I were you, I’d be more concerned about the fact that Sony is in such financial troubles, but still manages to dominate a company that has more money than it knows what to do with.

You really are a pathetic troll. But then again, when the X1 is struggling as bad as it is, I don’t really blame you for being so butthurt.

LOL…the domination continues. Titanfall has been forgotten already. The game that the sloppy gaming media wouldn’t stop crowing about has no legs and no teeth…it’s dead in the water with bots as dumb as rocks and 6v6 792p no destruction new gen goodness. LOLOLOLOLOL!!! It was inevitable. Let this be a lesson to you dopes….stop hyping garbage…garbage is quickly forgotten. PS4 continues to put the hammer down in sales because gamers want the power, the unparalleled first party devs making the best games, great indie support, psplus, all at a price that isn’t highway robbery for the value offered. And with Morpheus and psnow on the horizon, it may become even more of a bloodbath before the year is out. Now run along xbot only gamers and do what your daddy Microsoft is doing…..copy Sony yet again this gen. If you can’t beat em’, join em’ is the new Microsoft motto. LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!

  • Russell Gorall

I think it was just announced a week ago that Ghosts was the best selling game on PS4 and Xbox One.

    • superkarma

Best selling overall. NPD reports/tracks on a month-to-month basis. If you had read the article, you would realize it said “inFAMOUS: Second Son was the top selling next gen software title in April”.

      • Russell Gorall

Ahh, now I see the connection. April. Sorry.

Thank you Sucker Punch and to my fellow Playstation Nations gamers! I think we can all agree though, regardless of which fanbase you belong to, E3 2014 is gonna be HUGE. I know people say that every year, but seriously 2014 is just feels like the biggest throw-down between the big 3!

Figures from cream sugar , a reliable source from neogaf.
    Standalone : Infamous 82k, titanfall 77k
    Bundled: infamous 1k, titanfall 55k

    • superkarma

What are you rambling about, Xbox fanboy?

This info was directly from NPD and Sony. Nothing to do with neogaf. I’m sorry your precious Titanfall game flopped and has has been forgotten about. That must really upset you.

      • TitanMaul

Um, the npd doesn’t mention infamous. If you are judging solely on the npd then infamous is the real flop as it doesn’t even crack the top 10. See here http://www.joystiq.com/2014/05/15/april-npd-ps4-titanfall-lead-sales-again/
If you want to talk about flops, then the 360 launch of titan fall sold a lot more copies than infamous launch. And the Xbox one sold a lot more copies than the 360 version. Dont cry though :) xx

        • superkarma

For starters, I’d like to congratulate you on being one of those pathetic fanboys/trolls who actually upvotes their own comments. That just shows how desperate you are for approval. Thanks for confirming that to me.

Secondly, as this article states, inFamous was the top selling next-gen game for April. Hence the term, “next-gen”. inFamous is only on PS4. Titanfall is on X1, 360, and PC. Titanfall was top selling game in for X1 in March…and then was forgotten about. inFamous was top selling game for PS4 in April, and also beat Titanfalls numbers for the X1 in April, which is what makes it the top selling next-gen game for April.

As for your laughable 360 launch claim…no, it did not. inFamous sold over 1 million copies within 9 days of release. It took Titanfall 3 weeks to hit 925,000 copies…and that’s for both X1 and PC. Any other stats you spew about Titanfall is pure speculation not backed by actual facts, considering Microsoft/Respawn/EA hasn’t release any further sales data on that game.

Like I said, your butthurt is to be expected. Titanfall was supposed to be a COD killer, a game everyone would be jealous about….and yet, it didn’t even last a full month before dying and being forgotten about by the masses.

          • TitanMaul

Oh dear, you don’t read too gud. How is it forgotten? Did you not look at the NPD, its number one again…. Infamous however, didn’t make the top ten LOL.

Titanfall on the Xbox One has sold over double what Infamous has in the US over two months. That’s not even counting the Titan fall bundles. In the US the 360 version of titan fall sold more in its first month than infamous did in its first month, and the Xbox one version easily beat them both.

Titan fall may not have killed cod but I’ll tell you one thing for sure: Second son sure killed sucker punch. The head developer Jamie Griesemerleft left when it was released, haha.
Anyway, back to your indie ports fanboy, enjoy pure chess! xox

          • Karlo87

            Stop upvoting your own comments

          • superkarma

And yet…inFamous was the best selling next-gen game for April in the US. And yet, it took Titanfall 3 weeks to reach 925k copies sold between the PC and X1, whereas inFamous hit over a million in 9 days…on 1 platform.

How is it forgotten? Simple. The majority have dropped it within the first few weeks of release. All the big name youtubers were putting up Titanfall gameplays/commentaries after it was released…a few weeks later, they all went back to COD/BF gameplays. You never hear anyone talking about Titanfall. The sales have dramatically dropped off since release. The game is dead. Get over it and find something else to drool over, fanboy.

          • TitanMaul

If you think the number one selling game in the US in march AND April is forgotten, what must you think of poor infamous? Haha.
You can try this experiment for yourself, go to twitch right now and see what has more active streams infamous or titan fall. Don’t waste too much time looking for infamous though because no one is streaming it, NO ONE. Kinda hilarious when you think that’s the only semi decent exclusive on the whole platform :(
You’re accidentally comparing world wide figures of infamous with US only figures of titan fall you silly sausage. Titanfall on the Xbox one as sold more than double what infamous has sold in the US and uk, Google the charts for yourself because I know your little fanboy brain won’t accept it. Hope your analog doesn’t wear out when you’re playing those crappy Indies!

          • superkarma

Nice 1 SONY :P Hopefully E3 will be a (Xbox ONE) killer to :D

  • Christian Dixon

Ownership is going to top off much sooner in smaller markets such as the UK so of course sales are going to slow sooner in those places.

  • ambleThought

Well deserved for both Sony and all of Sucker Punch. But we gamers are the real winners!

  • worryingrash

It’s a bit misleading saying that Infamous it the best selling next gen game – it would be better to describe it as “the best selling exclusively next gen game”.

  • The Real Rick Grimes

Loved Infamous SS, gearing up for another playthrough later this year as evil. I have so many games to get to that I keep a list like a weirdo. lol

    • Raven Nafariea

I just completed my 14th play threw myself. I love being evil! hehe

      • DLConspiracy//

        14? Wow that’s some dedication.

        • Raven Nafariea

Yeah it is almost getting right up there with The Last of Us but with that game I played it back to back 20 times. With inFamous I took a small break in between then went back to it. lol

  • BLOB

Sucker Punc, should make marvel super heroes games.

  • Karlo87

Crazy numbers already, they’d be past the 10mil mark by now if they could get the supply demand met

  • Robert Mcdaniel

Wait??? working incredibly hard to provide additional inventory. That’s fun cause I can walk in any store that sells ps4 get as many as they want, I own both systems n both are easy to buy right now

  • Dirkster_Dude

If the marketing dude wants to relate to people he is going to have to stop talking like he is reading a press release when discussing his “preferred” :) platform. It just sounds so fake. The same sort of fake when Microsoft said Kinect is required for the XB1 to work.

  • Allen

Awesome! I love the strong support for PlayStation in the US.

But then again I’m done with the console war! Why? Because I won!

PS4 has already got this gen in the bag

Microsoft has finally made xbox live valuable and got rid of the stupid paywalls.

Sure there is a bunch of past stuff I hate about microsoft and xbox like forced upgrades and scams (Halo 2 PC Vista only, Orig. Xbox service/support, RROD to gain marketshare, paywall basic features on 360 & X1 & what they tried to do with X1). But at least there is hope for the brand and the right expectations have been set for the future of gaming and entertainment.

    So it’s all good now.
