Sony Computer Entertainment just released its own comment on the latest North American NPD figures that saw the PS4 beat its rival, the Xbox One, for the fourth month in a row.
Senior Vice President of PlayStation Brand Marketing Guy Longworth shared the company’s triumphant statement:
The April NPD report confirmed that PlayStation 4 was the top selling next generation console and remains the cumulative leader. in addition, inFAMOUS: Second Son was the top selling next gen software title in April.
Since PS4 launched last november, over 7 million consumers have enjoyed the rich and immersive gameplay, powerful graphics and deeply integrated social features only available on PlayStation. Demand for PS4 continues to outstrip supply and we’re working incredibly hard to provide additional inventory.
We’d like to thank the PlayStation Nation for their amazing support and we’re looking forward to sharing exciting news at E3 next month.
It’s definitely interesting to see inFAMOUS: Second Son holding this strongly in the US, considering how rapidly its sales have been declining in the UK and that it was out of the top ten software chart (that included overall units moved on all platforms for each game), but it’s not so surprising, since it’s an absolutely fantastic game.
What “exciting news” will Sony Computer Entertainment share at E3? We’ll find out in less than a month.
