Battlefield: Hardline Seven Minute Long Gameplay Trailer Leaked, Includes Tons of Info on the Game

Looks like the cat is out of the bag, and a seven minute long gameplay trailer for the upcoming police-themed Battlefield: Hardline by Visceral Games has been leaked way before its scheduled unveiling at E3.

What’s even more interesting is that the trailer seems to be running on PS4 and includes a whole lot of information on the game. It also shows a ton of gameplay, both of the four multiplayer  modes and of the narrative-driven single player campaign named Omaha (which could be a working title).

The multiplayer modes will be Heist, where criminals try execute a big robbery while the cops attempt to stop them. In Rescue the police will attempt to pull out of trouble a group of hostages during a heist gone wrong. Hotwire will feature big vehicle chases over large maps, while  Blood Money will involve gangs killing each other over a big pile of cold hard cash.

The game will also feature extensive environmental destruction and Levolution gameplay in several of its levels. Investigative gameplay and sneaking will be included, creating a very different experience compared to previous Battlefield games.

Of course a whole lot of vehicle gameplay is also part of the menu. It wouldn’t be a Battlefield game without that.

You can check it out below, while you should keep in mind that it seems to be early alpha footage, so the graphics will probably improve considerably before release.

Update: the video has been replace with an alternate version since the original was taken down. If you prefer, you can also download it here and check out a batch of screen captures at the bottom of the post, just in case.

Update 2: Visceral Games General Manager mentioned that the video is six months old, so the game probably looks a lot better by now:

So yeah, that happened. Not how we wanted to unveil Hardline, but all good. Didn’t want to wait til E3 anyway, so let’s talk about it…

Video that’s out there was for an internal meeting. It’s 6 months old now and team has been cranking since then. See the real deal at E3.

Excited to see so much buzz for the old footage. Love it. Can’t wait to show you how much further the team has taken things.

We’re pouring everything we’ve got into this & stoked to share details on June 9 – maybe even a little more before then if you want it.

  • DICE are like politicians..very convincing

DICE isnt making this game, Visceral is.

      • Aria68

        but obviously under DICE provision.

      • Ian

DICE is making the Multiplayer, Visceral is making the Campaign

  • They Call Me Senpai

Looks like it’s trying too hard to be End of Watch mixed with cop show/movie cliches, but I’ll give it a shot if it’s not broken.

    Also… that poor, innocent marijuana.

  • Boerewors

When this was announced I was mainly pissed because BF4 is just beginning to be fun this last month… Now I’ve seen some footage I know I’m just gonna buy it and be disappointed for the first half year again… Will I never learn?? But inevitable problems aside, this is the BF game I wanted for a long time.

      hope this is real

    • Guest

Its very early footage, pre-alpha, the public weren’t meant to see it hence the grey water mark “confidential property of electronic arts inc do not distribute”

So the graphics aren’t still that good in some areas, although still pretty impressive for pre-alpha

      • Martin Trybus

This was supposed to be shown at E3.

        • Jessie Bristol

Not this particular trailer. You can tell it is very early, I mean it is even calling the game by it’s project codename “Omaha.”

  • Michael Cardwell

Those graphics are ugly…. Looks like a low budget BF. lol

    • BadPiggie123

      It’s Pre-Alpha

      • Michael Cardwell

        Hope so

        • Max117

They said it was pre-alpha, and the quotes was pasted just on top of the video viewer. BTW, theses graphics were far from ugly, they are like BF4 on PC in this video, and it’s possible they’ll be better in the official game. Saying this is ugly is just unecessary and you should admit that any video games these days are looking better that anything else that was made just years before. Making a video game and beautiful graphics is far from being easy dude !!

          • Michael Cardwell

I don’t think it looks that great.. Just my opinion man. I never said delivering a great engine was easy. So not sure why the talk about that?

  • Consolegamer1996

Re-upload for anyone interested. I don’t know how long it will last so hurry!

  • Delsin Rowe

    really? lol

  • Warren Woodhouse

    Looks fun

  • Spudsy

Looks like alot of fun and definitely a far better idea than just doing another all out war game. Technical issues aside, battlefield 4 is easily good enough to last another year and a half until battlefield 5 is out next november and thats what makes this such a good idea. Call of duty should have done this years ago instead of churning out war games. Using there game engine and given us a call of duty, meets GTA, meets CounterStrike game.

Hats off to Dice and the gang, cant wait to play this game 😀

    • justpassingthrough

its made by Visceral games not by Dice.

Dice are still working on the disaster that is BF4

      • Spudsy

Dice and the gang = Dice (who are overseeing Visceral) Visceral, EA and, anyone else helping with the project.

ah I dunno, BF4 has never really caused me to much bother. It forgets my stats sometimes but I just restart the game and there rite back. Not the end of the world. Altho I do know loads of people are having major woes with it.

        • justpassingthrough

BF4 is still has its issues though most have been resolved.
But that should be expected as its been almost a year now-.-

  • L__S

To me the graphics seems worse than in BF4. I am very disappointed about the first gameplay. That’s not Battlefield, it’s more a CoD.

    • Guest

Its very early footage, pre-alpha, the public weren’t meant to see it hence the grey water mark “confidential property of electronic arts inc do not distribute”

      • L__S

I hope you’re right. But I think this gameplay video material isn’t that old because it’s a promotional video. And months ago EA wouldn’t show this to the public. I think this video is made for the E3. And if they want to release it later this year it have to be mainly finished. And even BF4 looks great when they revealed it.

    • Obsarian

This video is 6 month old, as they say this was done for an ‘internal meeting’ they will show the real deal at the E3…

  • TI_21

Was intrigued but slightly skeptic before. Now it’s a must have! 😮

  • Dennis Djoenz

So hold on, this game will have everything that was lacking in GTAV so far?
Elements of Payday2 which I thought was a mediocre game tbh. Perhaps even elements of Kane and Lynch but in FPS and by Visceral games? not by Dice?

    Colour me interested.

  • Escopablobar

First time ever, in my life, I can say that I am genuinely excited for multiplayer. Finally a concept that does not involve military warfare in a foreign country. I love the SWAT and robbers idea and the apparent need for true teamwork. Reminds me of Rainbow 6…a little.

    • Richard Nixon

This isn’t Battlefield at all. If you do not want “warfare in a foreign country” then stop playing Battlefield and find a new series.

      • Escopablobar

Wow! Where did you come from? Okay. 1) Re-read what I said. 2) Realize that it is my opinion…not yours. 3) Then realize that this is indeed the next installment of Battlefield and there is nothing you can do about it. Your disapproval and advice are irrelevant.

      • Dirkster_Dude

You’re not a crook are you Richard?

      • gamerboyps4

Yes, but there is always a room for changes, right ?

    • dapaintrain

Looks allot like payday crossed with GTA V and the old swat tittles but yeah im pretty interested.
I felt BF4 was a decent game but i wouldnt want the same modern warfare battlefield game again for a few years.

  • junguler

    looks generic as generic gets.

  • Matt Doria

I never thought the day would come where I actually get excited for a Battlefield game! Can’t wait to see more 😀

  • Carmine Falcone

I’d give this title a 6 months waiting period before buying, given the recent history.. Jus’ sayin

  • tylerc23

Gameplay looks like a lot of fun. Wasn’t gonna get it because I already have BF4 but this looks really good too

  • itsmenotyou

Something tells me that this is going to be a PS4 exclusive.

    • Martin Trybus

There is no way that this is going to be exclusive, sorry but this is EA, they want to make as much money as they possibly can.

      • Guest

        Shhh, it’s paupers’ wishful thinking.

  • Connor Stone

    2:21 OMG ITS REGGIE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sly Cooper

cops and robbers eh? Hmmm.. I’m intrigued.

  • Lehrit

Remember guys, this is pre-alpha, which means they haven’t put in a layer of blue over everything.

  • Stanleyros

Hey look it’s Roy from Ad Vice in LA noire

  • Guest

It’s funny becuase, EA could have just make this game under a new IP, but NOPE !!! they just had to throw that BATTLEFIELD title on top of it to seduce the massive fan base to buy it. I never hated EA this much, They are just pure evil much worst that Activision and Microsoft.

    • Guest

      You’re forgetting $0N¥.

  • Zac

Looks like a standalone add-on for BF4. Probably at best a $40.00 game.

  • Looks like a BF4 DLC honestly…

  • Midori Inaba

    no thx

  • Vail14

someone really let the cat out of the bag on this one.

  • Bliss Seeker

    Question is…
Do you actually climb into the vehicles?

  • Sean Lumly

If this really was a war on crime, the gameplay would consist of sitting at a desk, analysing data for social reform..

  • Shawn

So, wait. is it called Omaha or Hardline?

    • Ian

its called Hardline but the campaign is called Omaha, for now……

  • Juan Negron

    OMG!!! looks amazing!!!

  • Brian williams

Looks like they recycled a few battlefield maps for the multiplayer. Way to be new and original.

  • ImonadrugcalledCharlieSheen

Nah its got Phil Spencer in it so its guaranteed to suck.

    • Trioptical

Not necessarily the sucking part, but that’s who I thought of too. Hilarious.

  • alchemistx24x7

Where in the Hell is BFBC3 at?? If ea wont make another bad company at least put some if not all BC2 maps including vietnam dlc into bf4 so it will help past time till bf5 comes out..

  • ipot_04

i don’t know about the rest of you but Battlefield is still Battlefield, good thing they’ll release a Battlefield game this year, i guess i won’t be buying CoD Advanced Warfare this year.

  • kensredemption

So, Battlefield’s taking on a Counter Strike approach this year…should prove to be interesting. Long as they make it available on ALL next-gen consoles, I’m up for trying it.

  • James Skipper

GEEE i thought they already did this and called it Grand Thief Auto???? welll kinda

  • Trioptical

Oh, that’s a weird coincidence, Sledgehammer vs. Visceral in the contemporary shooter category this year, both pointing to having worked on Dead Space as a strength.

  • Orichalon Hades

this is the only time in my life that i am interested in a Battlefield game, Battlefield + Urban/City Settings? sign me up!

  • MØnkey D. Squall

  • gamerboyps4

I’ve never played any battlefield games before this, but this one………yes, I’ll give it a try. Hopefully it will have a good campaign.

  • gamerboyps4

I don’t play multiplayer a lot, so I’m looking for a good campaign. Hope that it will have a long campaign
