An ad appeared on Eurogamer’s website revealing that The Last Of Us Remastered will be released on October 10th. This was most likely an ad that wasn’t supposed to appear until later this week. Of course since this hasn’t been officially announced by Naughty Dog we’ll classify it as a rumor for now.
What we can say (from our own experience with ad agencies) is that advertisements usually are ready to go live alongside big announcements so it could have been that Eurogamer’s ad agency was supposed to make the campaign go live tomorrow. We’ll find out soon enough as Sony’s E3 press conference is less than 24 hours away. Check out the ad for yourself below.
Update: there seems to be a theory that the mobile version of the site overlays the date from a Driveclub ad to the one for The Last of Us, but it’s a bit of a flimsy explanation, considering how the ad is paginated and everything seems to fit together. This, of course, doesn’t mean that there can’t be a mistake in the ad itself, and we’ll probably know better tonight.
Thanks cidi84 for the tip!
