New Final Fantasy XIV Screenshots Show Patch 2.3, New Armor, Monsters, Dungeons and Personal Rooms

The release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn‘s Patch 2.3 is around the corner, slated for July 8th, and today Square Enix released a large batch of screenshots showcasing the content of the large-scale update.

We catch a glimpse on new armor, new monsters, the dungeons that will be introduced with the patch (including a new section of the Crystal Tower), and on some much awaited new housing features like private rooms and Chocobo Training. We even get to see the new Kraken boss.

In addition to the screenshots, the publisher also released a brand new trailer which you can check out at the bottom of the post.

It’s almost funny to think back to the times in which everyone thought this game was dead in the water, while now it’s compeltely reborn, flourishing, and one of the best games out there on PS4, not to mention one of the best MMORPGs on the market.

I still remember the final days of 1.0, the fight against endless armies of voidsent and Imperials, the wait for the fall of Dalamud, and the final battle (mostly against lag). It all seems so far away now… But enough melancholy for now, you can check out the new assets just below.

When SE deems it appropriate. Besides, Final Fantasy XIV is one of the best Final Fantasy games to date.

Damn, I made the same mistake.

  • Not a bad update! I wasn’t expecting so much from 2.3, I was thinking the bulk of content would release alongside the Rogue and Ninja class/job in 2.4. I recently got back into this a few days ago having been on the PS3 version previously, moving to the PS4 version with a fresh account and it has completely absorbed me yet again, just as I expected. I’ve almost unlocked the Monk job and have been doing a lot of work Mining so that I can become a Gillionaire! 😀

I would actually go as far as to say this is the best game on the PS4 currently, not only does it have endless amounts of content but it is just such a beautiful game.

I love this game. My sub ran out in early june, was thinking of resubbing since I beat most of what has come out

Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hardmode) is a dark followup to a small bit of story in the early part of the game where you meet a group of adventurers thats leader was killed in battle, and the Conjurer that was his wife carried his severed head around with her. That’s her in the screenshot of Hardmode, and that giant floating head that looks like a boss must be…

Really loving that they are continuing that old story that most people forgot about and making the game a little darker in the process.

    (Don’t worry, it’s not spoilers)
