Rumor: Sony Bend Canceled a Game in Late 2012 Before Moving to their Current PS4 Project

on June 26, 2014 3:35 PM

We know that Sony Bend is currently working on a PS4 game, but basically nothing else has been revealed about it, besides a few snippets of sparse information revealed by career opportunity ads. Many are surprised about the fact that the new game hasn’t been announced yet, and the reason may be that it took the studio some time after Uncharted: Golden Abyss to settle on the project, as revealed by industry insider Tidux, who is normally quite well informed about what happens at Sony.

After Sony Bend released Uncharted: Golden Abyss in 2011. they started on a new game that was canceled late 2012 #PS4

That would definitely explain the fact tat we still haven’t hear anything conclusive about the new game, considering that a cancellation of the previous project in late 2012 means that the new one has been in the works at most for a year and a half.

Of course, like every piece of information coming from insiders, we should take this with a grain of salt and consider it one of the many rumors floating around the internet. Unfortunately it’s unlikely we’ll hear anything specific about the canceled game, as details are rarely disclosed.

It’s worth mentioning that this kind of situation is pretty normal, after completing a major project, many developers start experimenting for a while, and that leads to quite a few games that end up never seeing the light or even being announced, until they finally find a project to settle on.
