Watch As We Explore the Depths of The Moon And Find Hidden Areas In This New Destiny PS4 Video

by on July 26, 2014 8:10 PM 35

In an old trailer for Destiny, we saw different areas on the moon that show off boss battles, crazy hives, and tons of fallen and hive creatures. Most people don’t think that this area was included in the Mission that we have access to in the beta, however if you look around enough it is possible to find a giant explorable area which seems to be the same as the one from the “The Moon” trailer released back in October.

You have to fight hordes of Acolytes, Knights, Wizards, and even a new Ogre creature that we only found one of, but the views that you”ll see from these new areas show the hard work that Bungie has been putting into this game. Some of this level design is just amazing, and really shows us that what we’ve seen so far is nothing compared to the experience Bungie is planning for us come September.

The New Area’s include:

  • Hellsmouth
  • The Gatehouse
  • Circle of Bones
  • The World’s Grave
  • Temple of Crota (Inside, unlike the Outside area featured in the mission)
  • Summoning Pit

Check out the video below to see all of these areas:

    this mission was surely underwhelming.
I went in solo. I can’t take the “exploration” while meeting the SAME kind of enemies over and over all the time. it got boring, I did 1 run through of the moon mission did a little exploring and end it.

    • Delsin Rowe

Yeah, i want to play the missions alone like you :D

    • rudero

It’s funny because it literally sounds like all FPS games.
At least on this game it is free roam and keeps feeding you enemies so that you stack up the loot instead of just becoming an empty waste land once you have killed everything.

      • Vious

nothing wrong with the game. if you enjoy it then do so. but it’s just not for me. I was skeptical from before and hope that the demo would’ve changed my mind about it. I’ve spent over 15 hours on the beta….I gave it a try. i’d borrow the game from someone but I don’t see myself buying it

    • Nordu

The main mission for the moon (lvl.6) was quite easy even on hard mode (maybe except when that horde pours out from the gate) but regarding enemy variety I am quite sure it was limited because its still early on in the game, remember that it was simply level 6, also I did encounter 2 new enemy variants when in the depths of the moon: the ogre and the…sentinel thingy.

      • ℳℛ.ⓅⒾⓀⓀⓄⓃ

There is no hard mode in the beta. it was in the alpha, but they took it out because they only let us get to level 8

        • Sucka Free

yeah there was, wasn’t called “Hard Mode” but there was a high level difficulty setting

          • Fabian Ortiz

They still took out the Legendary mode.

      • Vious

yeah I know that. but so far i’m not impressed. hope those who buy the game have loads of fun though

        • Jecht_Sin

Read: those Bungie traitors!! They’ll never see my money again. Never! lol

          • Vious

sigh, say whatever you want to buddy, if it floats your boat why not. while doing that get over yourself. I’ve put in a decent amount of hours into this game, my girl even watched me play, even she didn’t like the game, her exact words: “this game blows”.
            - dont’ try to put things where they don’t belong. I personally thought you were better than that.
            - if you like the game buy it, so far i’m not impressed. maybe at a later date i’ll buy the game and get back into it for the achievements and what not. but i’m a bit bored of the game so far. i’m sure there’s lots of game I haven’t seen yet.
            - also for your note: bungie isn’t a traitor, they went multiplat not exclusive. plus I’ve only played 2 of their games halo 1 and 2. I haven’ played 3/4/odst/reach.
            - /e next time if you don’t have something better to say then don’t make yourself look like a fool.

          • Jecht_Sin

What? A die hard xbox fan, also COD player who didn’t play Halo 3 nor 4? You really mean you prefer COD to the last Halo or Destiny? o.0

          • Vious

cod is a game, detiny is a game, same for halo. people have different states. they should play what they want. therefore, if I like cod over destiny then that’s my taste. not asking for your permission or looking for your acceptance in my gaming interests.
            - go ahead, keep digging yourself in hole.

          • Jecht_Sin

Actually I was more surprised about you not playing Halo 3 or 4 than Destiny. Come on, don’t get so sensitive now. It was simple curiosity. :p

          • Vious

oh, well this statement “You really mean you prefer COD to the last Halo or Destiny? o.0″ was way offbase on your part, but in any case lets move on. if you’re going to get the game I hope you enjoy it.

  • superkarma

I can’t wait to do the Hellmouth strike. If going down there was that intense just from exploring, I’m sure the strike will be equally (or even more) awesome.

It’s a shame they only gave us 2 hours. I could’ve screwed around on that map for much longer. Luckily Sept. 9th isn’t that far away. :)

    • Delsin Rowe

play the last of us until then :)
      like me :D

    • king_of_spades

gonna be sweet. even sweeter when i get the white ps4 with it

      • superkarma

I’m almost tempted to sell my launch PS4 to get the white PS4, because that thing is sexy. I’ll wait until it’s sold separately though, not in a bundle.

  • Mr_JtowN

I played with someone else on this mission, didn’t even do the story. Spent the entire time looking at every nook & cranny this map had to give. Found the area he was at and continued through until we found the Ogre(their was another area with an Ogre and creature that was like a sentinel). Couldn’t seem to go any further after killing it. Definitely had a fun time, can’t wait for it’s official release!

  • Ryan Rath

I had a blast exploring the whole cavern system of Hell’s Mouth on the moon. Made me crave more and I think Bungie knew what they were doing by giving us just a small taste. I wouldn’t call this past week and a half a beta though. It was a demo. The game is polished as is, and I honestly can’t say in the several hours I’ve put into playing and re-playing the same content to level 8 and pvp/iron banner events that I have found a single bug. Well done Bungie. I had a ton of fun and sad to see the beta go, but its time to move on as well. The game comes out in less than two months and so excited to see where our adventures take us upon full release.

  • MetalSpartan

I got tired of the beta day 1
I mean there is no point in playing it since when I get the full game I will replay the exact same missions from the beta in the beginning again!

    • Sucka Free

I didn’t get tired of it so much as I don’t want to burn myself out on it before I buy it. I ran through everything and leveled up my Titan to 8 but that’s it. I’ve learned from other beta’s how easy it is to ruin a game that way.

Had a blast though, can’t wait till Sept 9

    • superkarma

Meh, I don’t care about that. It’s still over a month away…by then, I won’t care about having to replay those missions and getting gear again. I’d rather get my feel for the game now, so when the full game comes out, I already have a general sense of what to do/expect/get and where to look.

      • Judgephoenix

Agreed I mainly wanted to try out pvp. Yea gonna need a decent fire team because randoms made me facepalm too many times lol.

        • superkarma

Yeah, definitely agreed. Unfortunately, my buddies were hardly available for this beta, so I got stuck doing everything solo. Almost every Iron Banner session put me on a noob team. It’ll definitely be nice to have a full fireteam when the game comes out, though. I always hate playing shooters solo, lol.

  • Sexy Mcgee

Yay, they fixed the frame rate issue! Thanks to Digital Foundry for pointing it out and Bungie for listening.

Just goes to show that it’s the ones who point out flaws and complain who improve a product (which is what you do with a beta) not the moron fanboys who dismiss everyone who doesn’t validate their willful obliviousness.

I put in about 50 hours on the Destiny Beta I think

  • RealityCheck2013

It’s just a shame the bad guys keep reappearing :-/ If you want to revisit a place you just been to the bad guys are back & you have to kill them again blah blah blah So you can’t really chill out on the Moon :D (or the other level once you killed the bad guys)

  • Judgephoenix

For me the I think Destiny is a testing ground for Destiny 2. My expectations are for the next game I am just gonna enjoy this in hopes for a improved world and pvp experienced. The reason I say this is Halo reach and 4 was the testing ground for this game when they added abilities and gave you more of a choice to your weapons. Most of the community accepted it. I do kind of wish for a Forge system, but the way the maps are I don’t think it will happen. Only time will tell :)

    • Vious

I don’t think bungie did halo reach or 4….(not sure though about reach, buti know 343 industries did 4)

    • Fabian Ortiz

Destiny is supposed to be a 10 year project that’ll span console generations. They aren’t planning a sequel as far as we know right now, they’re mainly planning to keep updating this game.

      I’m sure a sequel’ll happen, but it’s a long way off.

      • superkarma

Nah, we already know most of their plans, thanks to the leaked Activision contract. So far they have planned 4 Destiny games, with a new one coming out every other year. For every Destiny game, there will be at least 1 expansion pack.

I’m sure if the game is successful (which all signs suggest it will be) there will be many more plans in the works. One thing is for sure: It’s going to be an exciting 10+ years.

  • Darksied

I am the only one who is completely baffled the ghosts voice doesn’t come through the DS4? Missed a trick there that would be awesome

    • Sucka Free

      Didn’t on mine either
