Destiny: List of All the 22 Missions, 6 Strikes, 4 Areas, 11 Crucible Maps and More Discovered So Far

by on July 27, 2014 3:17 PM 48

Destiny‘s beta is close to its end, even if all we have from Bungie is a “today” estimation, and Reddit user KingOfCarrotFlowers put together a list of all the maps and missions that have been discovered thus far and featured on DestinyDB after being data mined from the beta and companion app.

It’s important to keep in mind that this list is not necessarily complete, since more could be added before release, and it has to be considered only a rumor, because of the nature of data mining. It’s not information officially released by Bungie, so it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Dude you gotta stop posting this!
it’s not even that great -_-

      • Dynasty2021

It’s almost like he’s never played an MMO before.

But no, because it’s on console, it’s the best thing ever. People were doing this back in 2004 when WoW was released for god sake.

        • superkarma
        • Giuseppe Nelva

          It’s not as banal actually.

Destiny’s only big shortcoming so far is communication.

You can’t really talk to people outside your fireteam.

Getting something like that going in a MMO is quite a lot easier. Because you can talk to people and tell em to do it.

          • superkarma

It took me a little to get used to it, but I don’t see that as a shortcoming at all. Not being able to hear the screaming kiddies and loud-mouthed trolls is definitely a blessing.

Of course, the argument can be made that they should’ve still included public voice chat, but just add the mute option. I easily choose this method over that, though. Different strokes, I suppose.

          • Giuseppe Nelva

They should have simply added public text chat. It’s really not that hard. If people don’t want to hear it, make it an opt in toggle.

          • superkarma

Who knows, maybe it’ll be in the full game. For me, I don’t care for public voice or text chat in a shooter. If I want to talk to someone, I’ll simply invite them to a party chat or to my fireteam.

          • charles banner

But you don’t know if you would want to do that until you talk to them. When your in open world sometimes you don’t have time to stop and start a private chat with someone just to communicate. I agree with open lobby chats and push to talk chat, with the option to mute someone. It’s a win win scenario for everyone wouldn’t you agree?

          • Aria68

To me, One of Destiny’s biggest shortcoming is it’s disgusting 30 fps for such a game that you are constantly moving and jumping and acquiring target and all it’s nasty twitch moves. It is very disappointing that this game runs @30 for PS4/X1 … It is such a shame for this game.

          • Vious

that motion blur was getting to me a bit at times.

        • Haytham

it doesn’t need to be an MMO to do something like this in the picture
Things like this happens all the time in games like GTA for an example

  • Haytham

i hope they’ll have good strikes like the Devils lair
unlike the moon one which wasn’t very interesting -_-

    • ryan dungey

The strike wasn’t available on the moon in the beta

    • maybe

the moon strike wasn’t complete. Can’t judge it yet.

      • Haytham

        oh ok :)

  • TheLastGuardian

Looks like a lot of content. Others say there is very little and Acti is milking us with the Expansion DLC crap.

I am for one glad we got some extra juice content wise in the PS4 version with that exclusivity deal. Now that you look at it, one strike mission matters in a sense.

    • AndreaTCardenas

      just
as Troy said I can’t believe that anybody can earn $9781 in a few weeks on the

    • ChaosInferno21

One level 18 strike mission with no aspirational content doesn’t really strike me as a big deal. Chances are we are going to be level 20 by the time we get to this strike, making it almost obsolete. We will play it once and never touch it again. The armor and guns are purely cosmetic; and one additional PvP map when we already have 10 is no big deal. None of the content is part of the core content of Destiny; it is just bonus content. I’m sure it will be fun for a day but after that….?

The more I review the limited exclusive content, the less shiney it becomes. With this content looking less than worthwhile, it is looking more and more like a Sony marketing gimmick to sell more consoles.

  • superkarma

I hope they didn’t scrap Jupiter’s moon, Europa. That looked pretty damn interesting when they revealed it.

It’ll be interesting to see the complete list when the full game is out. :)

    • TheLastGuardian

      DLC brother.

    • Matt

I agree. The concept art is beautiful for that one.

    • Raian K.

Based on the leaked full map its not there, so I am assuming its part of the expansion passes.

  • stx007

Story seems very short if that’s all.

    • tunde

i dont think it will be that short because some of those missions will be not be playable if you dont reach a certain level, and you cant level up just by doing story missions alone(unless you do them over and over) in 1 playthrough. also, if we say each mission is about 20 minutes long it will be about 7 hours for the whole story, add the strike missions and the explore sections then you have a whole lot of content to play through and thats before the crucible matches

      • stx007

Replaying the same content over and over to level-up (grinding crap), doest make it a bigger game.
I dont give a damn about the crucible element – I’m talking about story/campaign.
Seems like Bungie plans to milk us to death with DLC.

        • superkarma

or it seems like you don’t realize this isn’t all of the content. Either way, you seem foolish, so carry on.

        • GotNews4Ya

The DLC is almost 20$ a pop, with two planned per year it seems, and I am going to bet that it is going to be some pretty dang amazing DLC.. with expansive stories.. multiplayer maps.. etc.

          • Sucka Free

I’m hoping it will be like Borderlands DLC, full map expansions (planets maybe?) with campaigns and sidequests.

          • GotNews4Ya

Yes sir, I agree.. I think that every DLC will be Full Planets or maybe even a universe at a time, which will bring map packs for multiplayer, maybe increase levels, new weapons.. new vehicles, armor..

New Strike Missions and further development of the story. I imagine towards the end, the expansions will be talking about the victory the guardians have brought, and how we have destroyed or.. “Pushed Back” the Darkness.

  • Giuseppe Nelva

The funny thing is that I hear a lot of people complaining that this would be too little content. Compared to every other FPS I know there’s more missions, and a lot more stuff, so I’m a little baffled.

    • Raian K.

LOL those people are wanna be hipsters who think its cool hating on a popular game. The point of emphasis in Destiny is social exploration which based on just the Moon and Earth alone is a lot of time spent, not to mention all the rest available in the Reef, Mars and Venus.

I think gameplay wise it is no where near as good as Evolve, but content wise its easily one of the best coming in 2014.

    • Qal

the problem is despite them constantly saying “it’s not an MMO” it looks and feels a lot like an MMO and people expect MMO amounts of content from it.

    • Леонид Таркин

Compared to FPS – yes, compared to MMO – no

  • ℳℛ.ⓅⒾⓀⓀⓄⓃ

Im not going to lie. it doesnt seem like alot. But we really dont know what everything is in the game yet.

    • Yan Bezina

Considering you ll probably play them all at least twice to level up/get better gear , you ll at least get plenty of playtime .

  • oyedadon

    its enough

  • Raian K.

Im assuming the level cap is 20? But its hard to tell with strike missions being as high as level 28.

    • ℳℛ.ⓅⒾⓀⓀⓄⓃ

It might have something to do with how we acquire end game loot. In mmos once you hit the lvl cap, the gear you get dictates if you can go higher than that

    • Giuseppe Nelva

Cap is level 20 but you can break it with motes of light. I’m not 100% sure how it’ll work, though.

  • James Smith

lets be honest this game is gonna be a ton better than cod.If your only of those player that has a big friends list or plays a ton 90% you own the latest cod game or the last one.The beta was great reminded me of a great game called resistance when there’s actual gun skill and it does matter when you aim for the head.

  • DeepSleeper

He’s revised it upwards since, you can see the updated list here.

There’s apparently a lot of placeholder strings and “define this later” stuff in the beta app. I also quote:

“That’s because it’s incomplete, I’m hiding activities, items, vendors that do not have a proper name yet.
The information is also from June 30th. I never wished that the website is going to be used to get data to hate Bungie for missions they haven’t added to the Database, I just wanted to make a website where you can easily see everything.”

  • http://www.twitch.tv/MC_A_DOT A DOT ASANTE
  • Bliss Seeker

Nice summary. Does anyone know if Bungie will add more planets into Destiny?

    • Stormtroupe

I was expecting to see mercury in the full game considering that they mention it in the opening cinematic. Perhaps not. Hopefully they do put out more locations for download.

  • SEGA_FAN_KAIN

The Beta story missions were each about 10 minutes long. This article lists 41 story missions, which comes out to about 6.8 hours total. Unfortunately half of those story missions are repeats, so we can expect Destiny to has as little as 3.4 hours of original story missions doubled to 6.8. Disappointing.

  • Rayzernewar

Gente,Esse Jogo é incrível ! Eu joguei o BETA e amei, lindo simplismente lindo o jogo! Obrigado por me viciar DESTINY xD ♥DESTINY♥
