PS4 Exclusive inFAMOUS: Second Son Seems to Have Heavily Inspired this Lexus Commercial

Video games are becoming a more and more widespread and respected form of entertainment art, so it’s not unlikely or farfetched for them to inspire other artists and even filmmakers.

Lexus recently released a trailer titled Amazing in Motion – STROBE, directed by Adam Berg and using amazing strobe costumes created by Hollywood costume designer Vin Burnham and technical director Adam Wright.

While Lexus officially mentions that the trailer has been inspired by its cars, and specifically by the spindle grille and LED headlights, it’s hard for a gamer not to notice another very likely source of inspiration.

Below you can check out the trailer, and compare it with inFAMOUS: Second Son‘s Neon reveal trailer. If the Lexus’ video wasn’t directly inspired by the neon dash shown in slow motion, those that made them might just share the same brain.

Lexus be like,”Oh crap! They found out!”

More like the executives that approved it thought it was cool without knowing the context. The marketing firm obviously knew.

  • They Call Me Senpai

Pretty obvious they were inspired by Second Son.

That isn’t even inspiration at that point, it’s blatently ripping off Second Son.

Before I watched it was expecting a car using neon like effects and thinking this article an over exaggeration then I watched it and the fact the persons figure is scaling building in an infamous like way and such it’s so clearly used the idea from the game. They might aswell have paid to use delsin’s character in the advert lol…

I thought they were exaggerating this. Watched the video, I realized I was wrong to think that 15 seconds in 🙁

Sony’s lawyers are going to give Lexus ”Toyota” a call I am sure. That is such a rip off and it makes no sense for a car commercial.

It’s a little off topic, but I wish cancer on everybody who owns a luxury car. I mean, of course their ads are stupid, they’re selling a logo for an extra ten or twenty thousand dollars.
