NieR: Automata is certainly gathering a lot of attention lately thanks to the great gameplay showcased by the recently-released demo, but there is another element that turned many heads, the rather prominent behind of android protagonist YoRHa 2B, which is often generously displayed by her physics-enabled skirt.

Square Enix Japan doesn’t seem to have trouble showing it off even in official promotional screenshots, as you can see below, and during the latest livestream, Producer Yosuke Saito even took some time to clarify that the white underwear worn by 2B isn’t actually panties, but the bottom of a leotard.

While some among the easily offended crowd might take issue at the display, a whole lot of artistically-inclined fans appear to be appreciating, and that has given birth to a veritable cornucopia of fan art prominently showcasing 2B’s rear end.

Director Taro Yoko, who never misses a chance to be funny, commented on the large influx of fan art today on Twitter.

“About 2B’s butt uproar, a lot of bold pictures have been uploaded. Since it’s troublesome to gather them all, I’d like you to zip them and deliver them weekly.”

“Since I wrote about “a zip of 2B pictures” it seems that it was posted somewhere, and the zip really came. The Internet is amazing.”

Yoko-san might be referring to this post, in which Twitter user  provided a  handy gallery of a whole lot of dedicated fan art, for which the Game Director took time to thank him personally. On the other hand, user  provided an actual zip. It’s worth mentioning that, while the art included in both links is absolutely charming, it might be considered not safe for work in some workplaces, so click at your own risk.

Incidentally, the lovely artwork at the top of this post is one of the most tame of the bunch, by Pixiv user MadYY.

On top of this, Yoko-san mentioned that he played the demos of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony and Gravity Rush 2

About Danganronpa V3, he said that the personalities of the characters are amazing as usual, and there is almost no sensation of having seen any of the characters somewhere before.

On the other hand, about Gravity Rush 2 he mentioned that the number of NPC is increased since the previous game, and it’s awesome. Since he was playing for the first time in a while, he almost did not remember the gravity controls, and the environments are beautiful.

NieR: Automata will release in Japan for PS4 on February 23rd, in North America on March 7th, and in Europe on March 10th, 2017. A PC version is also scheduled to come next year, but no release window has been announced for that one. It’s definitely a hotly anticipated game. It won our staff-pick for Most Anticipated Game of 2017, and it ranked third among our readers.

As usual, Yoko-san responded in his most adorable Yoko Taro-like way. Please never change, Yoko-san.
