Overwatch Is Game of the Year at the D.I.C.E. Awards; Full Winners List Inside

Overwatch comes up on top at the D.I.C.E. Awards in Las Vegas, with Uncharted 4: a Thief's End also bringing home multiple trophies.

Tonight, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences hosted the D.I.C.E. Awards ceremony in Las Vegas, showcasing some of the best games of the past year.

Finalists were selected by the Academy’s “Peer Panels,” and the winners you’ll list below were voted by game developers who are members of the academy.

The Game of the Year award was won by Overwatch, that came on top among nominees that included Battlefield 1, Inside, Pokémon Go, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Blizzard’s game won three awards on top of Game of the Year,  but Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End brought home four.

  • Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design: Battlefield 1.
  • Outstanding Achievement in Story: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
  • Outstanding Technical Achievement: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
  • Action Game of the Year: Overwatch.
  • Adventure Game of the Year: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
  • Family Game of the Year: Ratchet & Clank.
  • Racing Game of the Year: Forza Horizon 3.
  • Role Playing/Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year: Dark Souls III
  • Sports Game of the Year: Steep.
  • Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year: Civilization VI.
  • D.I.C.E. Sprite Award: Inside.
  • Handheld Game of the Year: Pokémon Sun & Moon.
  • Mobile Game of the Year: Pokémon Go.
  • Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay: Overwatch.
  • Outstanding Achievement in Game Design: Overwatch.
  • Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction: Inside.
  • Fighting Game of the Year: Street Fighter V.
  • Immersive Reality Game of the Year: Superhot VR.
  • Immersive Reality Technical Achievement Award: Eagle Flight.
  • Game of the Year: Overwatch.

On top of the awards, the Academy honored Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Director Todd Howard with the induction in the AIAS Hall of Fame.
