During a panel at PAX East, Square Enix anounced that Final Fantasy XV’s firt story DLC Episode Gladio will get two tracks created by NieR: Automata Composer Keiichi Okabe.

The first track is the theme song of the DLC itself, titled “Shield of the King.” Okabe-sensei feels that Gladio and NieR: Automata Protagonist 2B share a similar fate. He wanted the theme not only to express Gladio’s battle-driven image, but also to express his underlying destiny.

The second track is a new arrangement of the familiar “Battle at the Big Bridge” dedicated to Gilgamesh. Okabe-sensei has always loved the Final Fantasy series, so he knew the original music well, so he didn’t “break it down” too much in order to bring out the elements that are already great, but the team asked him to give the track his own style, so there are moments in which he made some rather drastic changes to it. He includes NieR-like sounds and integrated vocals.
