Today the NPD released its software sales chart for the month of March in the United States, seeing Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands claim the top spot, closely followed by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

  1. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
  2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild*
  3. Mass Effect Andromeda
  4. Horizon Zero Dawn*
  5. MLB 17: The Show*
  6. Grand Theft Auto V
  7. For Honor
  8. NBA 2K17
  9. NieR: Automata
  10. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  11. Kingdom Hearts I.5+II.5 ReMIX
  12. Battlefield 1
  13. 1-2 Switch*
  14. Resident Evil VII BioHazard
  15. Overwatch
  16. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege
  17. Super Bomberman R*
  18. FIFA 17
  19. LEGO Worlds
  20. Madden NFL 17

It’s worth mentioning that while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild did not manage to claim the top spot, the chart doesn’t count it digital sales, like for all the games marked by an asterisk. We also learn that packaged software for Nintendo Switch sold 1.3 million units, and 1-2 Switch was purchased by 19% of those who bought the new console.

Ghost Recon Wildlands, on the other hand, enjoyed “the best launch of any Ghost Recon title” and “the second best launch of any Tom Clancy game” after Tom Clancy’s The Division.

Going down the chart, Mass Effect Andromeda had the second best launch of a Mass Effect title behind Mass Effect 3. Horizon: Zero Dawn also marked the best launch ever for Guerrilla Games selling in its first month twice as much as Killzone: Shadow Fall, which held the record until now.
