Awfully Nice Studios has announced that its shooter The Bug Butcher is coming to Xbox One and PS4 next week.

Originally released on PC back in January to mostly positive reviews, The Bug Butcher is a chaotically fast paced 2D side-scrolling shooter inspired by the arcade classic “Super Pang.” In it you play Harry, a tenacious exterminator who has knack for squashing the life out of bugs, and who has been tasked with protecting a group of scientists at an infested futuristic research facility on planet Zoit. After landing on Zoit, you will move from room to room through the facility blasting rockets and lasers upwards at anything not human.

The game boasts over 30 campaign missions and numerous boss fights. In addition to this, there is a local co-op “Panic mode” where you will fight endless waves of bugs in the name of high scores.

The Bug Butcher is set to release for PS4 on October 18th and Xbox One on October 19th for $9.99 USD.
