2K Games has announced today that XCOM: Enemy Within will be launching tomorrow on iOS, Android and Amazon devices for $12.99 as a standalone app.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown was ported to iOS in June 2013 and later to Android devices back in April of this year. The game, while taxing on some devices, delivered the entire experience that console and PC players had experienced first in 2012 on mobile platforms and Enemy Within looks to follow in its footsteps.

Unlike the mobile version of Enemy Unknown, the standalone version of the games expansion known as Enemy Within will be launching on all iOS, Android and Amazon devices simultaneously. More impressively, their will be multiplayer support for the iOS and Android versions of the game at launch, letting you go head-to-head with a friend in a strategic battle. No word on if Amazon devices will eventually support multiplayer.

Considering how much we loved the original, getting your hands on the souped up version in Enemy Within for $12.99 to play on your new iPhone 6 Plus or Nexus 6 will surely be a great way to kill some down time on your morning commute.
