As BioShock series developer Irrational Games shockingly closed earlier this year, many were left in waiting as to the future of the beloved series and where it will go next, and most of all, with who. Luckily, it seems BioShock's fact is in good, and familiar, hands to the series, 2K Marin - developer of BioShock 2.

During the Cowen and Company analyst conference, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke on the future proceedings for several of its franchises, such as BioShock and the Red Dead series, and spoke on the studio's focus for maintaining quality across its titles by not focusing on annualized installments and sequels.

Likewise, after speaking about franchises like Grand Theft AutoBorderlandsNBA, and Red Dead being integral to the company's focus, Zelnick also spoke about the future of BioShock, and that future development and overseeing of the series will be held responsible by 2K Marin, developer of BioShock 2. Zelnick specifically mentioned:

"We think [BioShock is] important and certainly something that we're focused on; something 2K Marin will be responsible for shepherding going forward."

"I think there's a lot of upside in that franchise. It hasn't necessarily been realized yet. And the question for the future, assuming we decide to answer the question, would be 'How do you stay true to that creatively?'"
