Japanese gamers will be able to download Sega’s Nintendo 3DS Shinobi II re-release a week from today. Sega’s Japanese website has been updated with an August 7th release date for 3D Super Shinobi II. It will cost 600 yen, which is about the Japanese equivalent of $6. The game contains enhanced 3D visuals compared the original Shinobi II, which released a full 20 years ago and is known outside of Japan as Shinobi III. A handful of screenshots showing the game in action have been released, and you can check them out below.

None of Sega’s 3D releases have made it out of Japan. Think 3D Super Shinobi II will change that?
