50% of Shovel Knight’s Revenue Came From Nintendo Platforms, Complete Breakdown for Shovel Knight and Broken Age Revealed

According to a new presentation from CEO Nathan Vella of indie studio Capy Games, Shovel Knight earned half of its revenue from Nintendo platforms Wii U and 3DS:

Sony platforms equaled 14 percent of revenue and Xbox platforms gained the title 4 percent. Meanwhile, indie title Broken Age amassed 61 percent of its profit from PC only.

It’s interesting to see how the numbers split up. However, for an indie studio any source of revenue is important and therefore should not be understated.
