Adventure fans rejoice: 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors is available now for the DS.  Developed by Chunsoft and published by Aksys Games, 999 is a point-and-click adventure game similar to the Phoenix Wright series, except much much darker in tone.  The basic premise seems to be that nine people are trapped in nine rooms on a ship, and have nine hours to escape the rooms before the ship sinks.  Oh, and did I mention that all the people have bombs in their stomachs, just in case they break the rules?

Like most superb DS titles, this one came out of nowhere, so if you're a little iffy on the game, Aksys was kind enough to provide a free Flash demo online, right here. Having just played through it, I think we have a sleeper hit on our hands.  The plot has a very Saw-esque setup, and judging from the M rating, it looks to be equally terrifying as well.  Even if adventure games aren't your thing, please just check out the demo; I'm quite certain you won't be disappointed.
