During a short walkthrough, Melanie Faulknor, an external producer for Mass Effect 3, demonstrated just how much the Wiipad will augment the overall in-game experience in the Wii U edition of the game. Much like the functionality seen in games like Assassin’s Creed III and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, the Wiipad will allow gamers to make changes to their party’s abilities and movesets on the fly, rather than the constant pausing necessary in the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions of the game. The gameplay becomes seemingly a lot less superfluous because of this.
Mass Effect 3 for the Wii U will contain a motion comic that chronicles the events of Mass Effect 1 and 2, and will include all downloadable content that has been released up until this point. A release date for the game is unknown.
