A Possible New Atelier Game?

on January 6, 2010 6:09 PM

As if we didn’t have enough alchemy-heavy Japanese RPGs to handle – both localized and not – there’s the possibility of another one in the works.  Famitsu‘s editorial department apparently received a New Year’s card from Gust, the studio behind the Atelier franchise, which pictured an as-yet-unseen female character that is rumored to be the artwork of Atelier series character designer Jun Futaba. Again, this is just rumor, but if another Atelier title is in the works, it’ll still be quite a while before we see it here Western regions.

Their first PS3 offering – Atelier Rorona – still isn’t out over here, although we should see it sometime this year.  So, don’t hold your breath.  Needless to say, it’s nice to know a great niche RPG developer is keeping a steady stream of goodness coming our way, if there is indeed any truth to this rumor.
