Today, Polish developer Madmind Studios released a healthy slab of new gameplay footage for its first-person psychological survival horror game, Agony, which is set to release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime this year.

The new footage comes in at a lengthy 12 minutes and shows off the "Floating Forest" area of the game, including the horrors -- and I don't say that lightly -- that lie within.

In Agony, players begin their journey as a tormented soul within the depths of hell without any memories about his past. Apparently, this "tormented soul" you play as has the special ability to control people, and even possess simple minded demons, skills necessary to survive the conditions he finds himself in.

During your journey you will interact with other weary souls of the hellscape, and learned that the only way to escape from Hell, is meeting the mystical "Red Goddess" herself.  You will further unravel the game's story through things like hidden notes, letters, paintings, and other collectible stuff.

Agony notably appeared on Kickstarter in 2016, where it raised over $182,000 USD (its goal was only $66,000). The developer Madmind is said to possess talent that worked on games such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Alien Rafe, The Division, and more.

Below, you can check out the new gameplay footage for yourself (which features nudity, so heads up):
