Alan Wake’s American Nightmare was released in February of this year to more-than-satisfactory critical acclaim and quickly became a top-selling Xbox Live Arcade game within the first week of its release. Unfortunately, PC gamers have had to wait for their turn to play the game.
That wait has now come to an end. It was announced today that American Nightmare will be released for the PC next month. The PC version of the game will benefit from what Remedy Entertainment is referring to as ‘a complete revamp;’ featuring ‘stunning’ high-resolution graphics and enhanced PC-specific features.
The game is a continuation of the original Alan Wake and developers have stressed that it not be misunderstood as a direct sequel or spin-off. It is an expansion of the lore that was established in the first game with a completely contained and stand-alone story of its own.
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will be released May 22nd, 2012 for the PC on GOG.com and Steam.
