Alien: Isolation just got a bit more terrifying today, as developers Creative Assembly announced the addition of two new difficulty modes to the game.

The two modes add one difficulty mode for extremely new players called 'novice' as well as the games hardest difficulty mode in 'nightmare.' Novice difficulty dumbs down the Xenomorph, makes Working Joe Androids easier to kill and supplies player with ample supplies to make the experience much more digestible. On the other hand, nightmare makes the mode ludicrously intense by making your ever trusty motion tracker incredibly unreliable, disabling HUD features like your health bar, removing Sevastopol map, making the flamethrower much more resource intensive and severely cutting back on the supplies you will find.

By adding these two new modes Creative Assembly has addressed two common complaints in the community of players demanding for a harder challenge to really test their survival skills and providing a much easier mode to more freely explore the game's world. The difficulty was one of my complaints in my review, so I find it nice to see that the developers are accommodating the community with these new features.

You can checkout two new posters that display the game modes below. Alien: Isolation is available now on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
