Even with some of the summer’s biggest sales having come and gone such as the Steam Summer Sale, Amazon is gearing up for a big day next week not only for the company’s 20th anniversary, but for a shopping day that could be as big as the holiday season.
Amazon announced that next week on Wednesday, July 15th, 2015 the company will be hosting its “Prime Day” sale event, where “more deals than Black Friday” will be on offer across the website for a variety of items: no worries either, as video games are indeed part of the package.
Prime Day will offer “thousands of Lightning Deals, Deals of the Day” and more throughout the sale on July 15th – deals will start next Wednesday at midnight PDT, and new deals will be offered throughout the day, with Amazon saying “as often as every ten minutes.”
The one sole catch for the sale is that Prime Day will be exclusively held for members of Amazon Prime, the website’s premium membership service that offers a variety of bonuses including unlimited online photo storage, streaming of TV shows and movies, discounts on purchased items, and free two-day shipping on all items. Membership for the service typically costs $99 per year, but a one-month free trial is also available for those looking to test out the service.
While specific deals haven’t exactly been revealed just yet ahead of next week’s sale, Amazon is no slouch in offering recently-released games at low prices, as electronics, video games, and other items will surely be at a prime discount next week.
Amazon’s Prime Day Sale will take place on Wednesday, July 15th, 2015 for one day only.
