Though it first released in 2013, the handheld Animal Crossing: New Leaf quickly became one of the 3DS’ most beloved (and adorable) hits, with the title to get some new updates including support for new amiibo, Cards, and plenty of other content.

During today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo announced a new update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf that will be arriving this fall, with the update to bring in new features such as support for amiibo functionality, from both the Animal Crossing line and other series.

New amiibo cards for Animal Crossing: New Leaf will also be releasing on December 2nd, 2016, with 50 new cards to be released for new items, Villagers, and plenty of other new additions.

A new bundle of the game will also be made available during this holiday season called Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo, which will package together the original game and the new update, along with a special amiibo card with the game.

Nintendo also shared that an Animal Crossing focused “mini Direct” will be coming later this fall for new features and more coming to the Animal Crossing games.
