Apple Updates App Store With New Pay Once & Play Category for Mobile Titles

Mobile titles have hit a fever pitch across smartphones, tablets, and other Android and iOS-powered devices, and after Apple implemented a few changes in its massive App Store to note games with additional in-app purchases, the company is further making some changes to provide clearer categories of which apps do and don’t have microtransactions.

Apple announced that the company will be implementing a new “Pay Once & Play” category, a new tag that will aim to highlight specific game releases that will not require iOS users to make in-app purchases or pay additional fees in order to progress through the game.

A statement from Apple shows that the new Pay Once & Play category will help users to “”Enjoy hours of uninterrupted fun with complete experiences spanning the App Store’s most beloved genres.”
