Korean Gamers (and quite a lot of news-hungry international fans, me included) have been waiting for an official start date of the fifth phase of the closed beta of the upcoming sandbox MMORPG ArcheAge. Today XLGAMES finally spoke: CBT5 will start on August the 16th and finish on August the 31st.

According to XLGAMES the fifth phase will be the “grand reharsal” before the open beta ¬†that is planned to start in South Korea at the end of the year.

The 13,000 invited Beta testers will find updated quests, housing, marine contents and early stage game play. In addition to that, the client will be finally based on CryEngine3, as the migration from CryEngine2 has been completed.

As during the fourth phase of the closed beta, I’ll be sure to be on the front lines reporting everything I can about the fifth. If the game looked this good with CryEngine2, I can’t wait to see how it’ll look with the updated engine.
