No one rides the "Danger Zone" quite like Sterling Archer from the hit animated series Archer, and later this month the animated superspy will be taking on a completely new challenge - singing on the open stage and rocking out.

In an update on the PlayStation Blog, Rock Band product manager Daniel Sussman revealed that Archer's titular spy will be making a cameo as part of the March update for Rock Band 4, to coincide with the release of the song "Danger Zone" being added to the game as part of the update, making for a perfect tie-in.

Specifically, Sussman explained that when the song was determined that it would be added to the game's music library, the team said that their "thoughts immediately went to Archer" as big fans of the show. As such, Harmonix reached out to the show's production team, Floyd County Productions, for the chance to add the character into the game for a cameo.

Given that Archer is presented as a cel-shaded 2D character in the show, Harmonix addressed that adding the character to Rock Band 4 "presented a unique challenge," with the team, ultimately, creating a "custom cel-shader" in Rock Band 4 to best recreate the character as faithfully as possible from the show.

Rock Band 4 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, with the March Update to release on March 16th, 2017 - in the meantime, you can check out Archer in action through several images and a trailer below:
