Snail Games has released a good amount of new information regarding their upcoming VR experience ARK Park. The spin-off of ARK: Survival Evolved is set to release later this year for PlayStation VR, and the studio was at China Joy to talk about the upcoming VR title which will feature over 100 prehistoric creatures.

They mainly discussed how this virtual reality version will be different from the mainline game, but also focused on its tower defense gameplay, what the player will face in the field and customization options.

The premise of ARK Park VR is that its a large theme park full of life-size dinosaurs making it feel like you are right there with the prehistoric beasts. There will be a mono-rail which brings people to and from the main entrance and the main building appears rather similar in appearance to the “Visitor Center” in Jurassic World. The dinosaurs appear to be using the same models as in the vanilla version of ARK: Survival Evolved.

In contrast from the calming nature of the experience, the tower defense portion appears to feature a healthy dose of killing ferocious fire-breathing dinosaurs and giant scorpions with high tech weaponry.

ARK Park VR releases later this year for PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. You can check out the trailer (courtesy of YouTube user  site MMO) and accompanying screenshots.
