The story of Assassin’s Creed has been pretty well-told at this point, with an expansive story spanning multiple games, novels, comics, and now even a board game being added into the mix.

Ubisoft announced on its official blog that in collaboration with Cryptozoic Entertainment the studio will be releasing a tabletop board game based on the series, Assassin’s Creed: Arena. The game will be released on February 26th, 2014 and retail for $50.

According to the description provided on the blog, Assassin’s Creed: Arena will have players taking turns to draw various “Event” cards that provide lasting effects on either one player or can affect the entire game board, forcing players to make decisions on either to attack others, hide in the shadows, or move to a new location. As players earn cards and add them to their hand, they also serve as hit points: once a player loses all of their cards, their game is over, unless respawned at the original starting point.

Cryptozoic gave a description on their official site for the game, mentioning that the game is designed for 2-4 players, and that typically games last between 30-45 minutes.

Assassin’s Creed: Arena releases in stores on February 26th, 2014 for $50.
