Personally, I really enjoy a good score, and I mean a musical score, although the other kind of scoring is probably better. I feel that a good score not only accents the game or movie, but it also is powerful enough to invoke emotions from its listener. I have found myself to be a person who loves to listen to scores while studying usually, and as a musician, I can really appreciate the level of dedication, inventiveness and musicianship.

The Original Soundtrack for Assassin’s Creed II will be releasing on November 16th for download. This release is the day before the release of Assassin’s Creed II and it would be a wonderful way to get into the mood for AC II. Jesper Kyd is returning as the composer for AC II and he is taking the music to a new level. It really looks like they want to use the music to pull the player in and keep them there. Kyd stated, “We created a unique musical identity for Assassin’s Creed II that reflects the character and story of Ezio and elevated the music, both in terms of creativity and live production, to a whole new level.”

This is definitely one that I will be picking up, although AC II is probably not going to be a day 1 buy for myself. I am extremely excited to hear how Kyd will be pulling us into the Italian Renaissance with the score.
