Early yesterday, retailers began to receive marketing materials for a title that had yet to be announced by Ubisoft. It featured a prominent white-hooded assassin all decked out in swashbuckling attire. Last night Ubisoft confirmed that what we were looking at was in fact Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag; a new title in the Assassin’s Creed franchise that it will release ‘Holiday 2013’ for XBOX 360, PS3, Wii U and PC.

The game will follow the storyline of Edward Kenway, grandfather of Conner from Assassin’s Creed 3 and it takes place during the 18th century throughout various locales in the Caribbean such as Havana, Cayo Islands, and Florida. The publisher also issued a statement to VG247 about when we can expect more details about the title, “We confirm that Ubisoft will announce all the details of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag on Monday March 4th at 5pm GMT.”

Also released is the game’s box art, which you can see below. Make note that the PS3 box art says that the title will feature “60 minutes of exclusive gameplay” on Sony’s platform.
