During the pre-stream segment of the the PlayStation All Access Live Launch event Sony Computer Entertainment it was confirmed that Assassin's Creeed IV: Black Flag will run at fill 1080p native on Sony's Console.

AC4 joins the group of games running at Full HD resolution on the PS4, while we still don't know its pixel count on Xbox One. We'll keep you updated on that when we'll hear more information.

Update: in a funny turn of events, looks like ACIV will indeed run at 1080p native, but not immediately. On the Ubi Blog Ubisoft announced that the game initially shipped at 900p native resolution, but will be upgraded to full 1080p native on PS4 with a patch that will launch "shortly."

According to the developers, this was done to achieve a steadier initial performance while the time between going gold and launch has been used to increase native resolution. In addition to the resolution bump, the patch will also bring a "brand-new anti-aliasing technique."

Now I wonder if Sony just forgot to mention this during the stream, or Ubisoft just forgot to tell Sony. Either way, it's rather funny, and hopefully "shortly" will be really short.

The blog post provided no update on the native resolution on Xbox One.
