Assassin’s Creed: Pirates, the mobile counter-part to the franchise’s latest main installment, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, has received both a new trailer and an official release date from Ubisoft.

While the gameplay depicted in the trailer does not fully resemble what we have seen in both Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed IV, the basic principles are certainly there. The game also touts a character and ship customization feature as well as an original story and a character who has no allegiance to neither Templars nor Assassins.

Assassin’s Creed: Pirates was developed by Ubisoft Paris and will be published by Ubisofr for “high-end” iOS and Android smartphones and tablets on December 5th, 2013. You can check out the new trailer below.
