Koei Tecmo is doing something quite different from the usual fare with Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings.

During a recent press event hosted by Koei Tecmo America, representatives of the publisher confirmed to DualShockers that the western release of the game will not include English voice-overs. This was also confirmed afterward by a representative of Koei Tecmo Europe.

The audio will be exclusively in Japanese paired with subtitles. This is a relevant change from previous Atelier games that were dubbed in English.

That being said, Koei Tecmo certainly isn't the first publisher going this route. Series like Atelier have a niche following among JRPG fans, and most of them likely don't mind or even prefer the original voice-overs.
