This week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine reveals that the next game in the Atelier series is coming to the PlayStation 3 in Japan this summer. It also has the first details about the two new protagonists.
Like Atelier Escha & Logy, Sharry will have two protagonists who both share the titular name. Details on each character are below:
A 16 year-old alchemist. She comes from a family that protects an ancient alchemic relic. She became head of the family after their death and must find a way to save her hometown which is on the verge of life and death. She sets out on her journey to the oasis town Strard.
Her story: A story about the mystery of the world draws near. A story about the heart of dusk draws near. A story about the growth of a brave and diligent young girl.
An 18 year-old, sub-par and poor alchemist. She runs Atelier on behalf of her late father in Strard. However, she lacks aptitude and experience so she’s kind of a knock-off alchemist.
Her story: A story about an adventurous and ordinary comedy chick. A story about a seemingly life-sized “Atelier.” A story about the growth of a reckless and straightforward young girl.
The game will have a “Life Tasks” system which is how the story will progress. There are three steps involved in this system which are Explore, Mix and Battle. The story advances once these are completed.
Atelier Sharry: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea will be released in Japan on June 26th. It will cost 6,800 yen for the standard edition, 6,000 yen for the digital version. A premium edition will also be available. This will have a four-disk special music CD and drama CD will cost 9.800 yen.
*It should be noted that both of these names are an approximation based on what was written in the magazine and are subject to change when this game is officially announced for the West.
