Just a week after 20th Century Fox made headlines with its trademark filing of a game titled Alien: Blackout, another application has been found that has the exact same intended use. Avatar: Pandora Rising has been filed as a trademark for use with video game software by 20th Century Fox.

The filing comes after almost two years since the original announcement of an Avatar title entering development under Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, developers of The Division and South Park: The Fractured but Whole. Not much is known about this project, but it's possible that this trademark could be the title of that game. However, Avatar: Pandora Rising could potentially belong to something entirely different.

Ubisoft stated earlier in 2018 that we are a long way away from the release of its Avatar project, citing the Fiscal Year 2021 as the absolute earliest that it would be published. If this trademark does apply to that game, it has definitely been filed quite early. Consequently, the title Avatar: Pandora Rising could possibly just belong to another unannounced game, or even maybe a mobile title.

Of course, we could be wrong and this could be the subtitle for Ubisoft's game - who knows for sure? We will keep you updated if anything else arises regarding this trademark, name, and anything else related to the Avatar video game universe.
