Backbreaker: Vengeance Smashes Its Way to E-Shelves Today, Pick It Up!

505 Games’ arcade kinda-not-really sports game Backbreaker: Vengeance is set to hit the XBL Marketplace today for 1200 points, and they’ve released a launch trailer to commemorate this occasion. Backbreaker: Vengeance takes the best part of football (the dirty hits!) and condenses that into a game that’s less about sports and more about strategy than anything.

I got a chance to play a bit of this at E3, and even though I’m not a football fan at all, I found this game supremely enjoyable. It’s more a puzzle game than sports game, so anyone should be able to pick it up and have a great time with minimal effort. On top of that, it’s a ridiculous amount of content for one game, with three modes, and about 30 levels for each mode. Definitely check it out; you won’t be disappointed.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
