Bandai Namco announced the closure of the free to play fighting game SoulCalibur: Lost Swords, that will end its service on November 30th, and they released a “closing” trailer to say farewell to the community, but is it really a farewell?
The trailer, which you can see at the bottom of the post, ends in a high note, with the message below:
But that’s not all. The publisher responded to a few comments in a way that can definitely be considered teasing.
If I was a betting man, all the winking would definitely push me to put my money on an announcement regarding a new SoulCalibur sooner rather than later. Tokyo Game Show is exactly two weeks away, and the timing seems a bit too good to be random.
Also, releasing a trailer for the shuttering of a game is rather peculiar, unless you have something up your sleeve.
Personally, I definitely hope to see a new SoulCalibur, possibly on current generation platforms only, and without the free to play model in the way. We’ll see, but if an announcement does come at Tokyo Game Show, I’ll be utterly unsurprised.
