Deathstroke is a huge part of the marketing campaign for Warner Bros. Montreal's upcoming game, Batman: Arkham Origins. The character has been prominent in a majority of the game's trailers, and is being promoted as the main pre-order bonus. The character however, will not be playable in the main story-mode (the bread and butter of the Arkham franchise) in any form.

Eric Holmes, Creative Director for the title, confirmed to a young fan via Twitter that while him and his team are huge fans of Deathstroke, "we also love making things great. Throwing [Deathstroke] into the open world wouldn't be a polished experience."

Batman: Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal and will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 25th, 2013. A Vita/3DS version of the game, Batman: Arkham Origins – Blackgate, is also in development by Armature Studio and will be released on the same day.
