Those of you crossing your fingers for a next-generation version of Batman: Arkham Origins will be sorely disappointed, as it has been confirmed that the title has not been developed for next-generation consoles.

Ben Mattes of Warner Bros. Montreal, Senior Developer on the project, confirmed to a fan via Twitter that, "Arkham Origins will only ship on the announced platforms. It is not coming to PS4 or Xbox One." With such a cavalier admission, it also makes the chances of an eventual port to the next-generation systems doubtful. But hey, we have not heard anything from Rocksteady in a while; maybe they have a surprise up their sleeves?

Batman: Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal and will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 25th, 2013. A Vita/3DS version of the game, Batman: Arkham Origins – Blackgate, is also in development by Armature Studio and will be released on the same day.
