Released earlier this year by Gearbox Software, Battleborn brought a new kind of battle to console and PC owners with MOBA-like elements, with the game getting new content today in the form of a new story expansion and a brand new multiplayer mode.
Publisher 2K Games announced that the first story expansion for Battleborn, called “Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion,” is now available as the first of five story expansions and adds a new film noir-inspired set of story operations for both solo or co-op play. The “Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion” expansion is available as part of the game’s Season Pass for $19.99, or can be bought individually for $4.99.
In addition to the new paid DLC, a new multiplayer mode is coming to the title free for all users called “Face-Off,” where teams of five players must kill Varelsi minions to collect and deposit their masks in specific parts of the map – however, if killed by the enemies, players will drop their masks and are collected instead, with waves of enemies increasing in difficulty.
Battleborn is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC – you can check out a new trailer for the game’s first story expansion DLC below:
