Battlefield 4: Final Stand Confirmed, Shows Glimpse of High-Tech Future

Remember that leaked Battlefield 4 screen I showed you yesterday with a soldier holding what looked like a railgun? Looks like they were authentic, as EA has revealed today the last piece of Battlefield 4 DLC known as Final Stand.

Over on the Battlfield Official Blog, the developers pulled back the curtains on the first details on the Final Stand DLC. The add-on will take players deep into the arctic land of Russia, featuring four new maps in the form of Operation Whiteout, Hammerhead, Giants of Karelia and Hanger 21. Players will be able to use railguns that can shoot off kinetic energy, man hover tanks and more when the DLC becomes available.

“With Final Stand, we knew from the start that we wanted to evolve the Battlefield experience and offer weapons and vehicles that behave differently than anything else on the battlefield,” wrote the developers in the official post. “Taking place on the artic landscape of Russia, where the scientists of today are experimenting with technology that will define the battlefields of tomorrow (Battlefield 2142, anyone?), Final Stand will deliver four maps that are unique and distinct. With its military installations set against a wintry landscape, expect intense, infantry-focused combat.”

To get your first look at the new maps, a view of the hovering tanks and even a couple quick peeks at what looks like a mech building facility, you can also check out the official reveal trailer below.
