A new major update to Battlefield 4 will bring new weapons and an old game mode to the multiplayer shooter on Tuesday, May 26. The update will cause online multiplayer to go offline for one hour on all consoles. The rollout begins on PC at 1AM PDT and continues every consecutive hour after on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3 in that order.
The weapons being introduced to Battlefield 4 have very little detail, with DICE only confirming that: A new fan favorite assault rifle will return, a new bullpup carbine, a new PDW with silencer, “sniper” sidearm that uses magnum rounds, and a magazine fed LMG will be included.
The returning game mode, Gun Master, originally appeared in Battlefield 3: Close Quarters. The game mode plays much like Team Deathmatch but players get a new weapon after every two consecutive kills. The player who achieves a kill with the final weapon wins the match.
