It has been just over a year since Battlestar Galactica Online was first released to the public. Based on the highly successful 2004 show, the game has seen some pretty noteworthy success. Within three months of its initial release, BSGO was able to amass 2 million subscribers. Almost a year later, that number now stands at close to 10 million. “We are thrilled with the tremendous growth of BSGO and how the game has performed over the past year,” said Heiko Hubertz, founder and CEO of the games developer, Bigpoint.
In addition to the game’s routine content updates, Bigpoint has announced that they will reward players for their continued loyalty in the form of a one-year anniversary event. Whenever players log in to the game during this event, they will be able to receive what Bigpoint described with no specificity as, “free items and bonuses.” Bigpoint also added that, “the Daily Merit Cap will be increased, and special offers will be made available for players to purchase in-game items.”
The one-year anniversary event is set to begin on April 30th and conclude on May 6th.
