Battletoads are Dropping in to Shovel Knight’s Xbox One Release

While their sly references and cameos at various events have led many to believe Microsoft is planning a revival of the old-school classic Battletoads, the re-appearance of Rash, Zitz, and Pimple have indeed been confirmed – however, instead of a brand new Battletoads game, they’ll be dropping in to the Xbox One release of Shovel Knight.

After being confirmed in the lineup of ID@Xbox games coming to both Xbox 360 and Xbox One in the near future, developer Yacht Club Games made a surprise reveal that the lovable war-minded amphibians of Battletoads will be making an appearance in the Xbox release of Shovel Knight, following last year’s reveal that Kratos of the God of War series would make a cameo appearance in the game’s PlayStation release in April.

Yacht Club Games confirmed that the Xbox One release of Shovel Knight will bring the Battletoads in tow, as the characters will make a cameo through one of the game’s encounters during the campaign – the Xbox One version of the game has no specific release date at this time.

Shovel Knight is currently available on Wii U, 3DS, and PC, Mac, and Linux – the game will also release on PS4, PS3, and PS Vita on April 21st, 2015, with a release on Xbox One also confirmed to be coming – you can check out a teaser trailer for the appearance of Battletoads in the game’s Xbox One release below:
